Formaꢀve and basic plumages are very similar. The absence of moult limits is not easily discerned. </p><p><strong>Ageing </strong></p><p>Use moult limits to separate formaꢀve plumage from basic plumage. Tail shape may be reliable in some cases, but intermediates occur.
