Dezember 2018 22.05 – 24.00 SRF 2 Kultur Nicht weniger als zweiundzwanzig Mal wurde der Filmkomponist Victor Young für den Oscar nominiert, allein in den Jahren 1939 und 1940 je für vier Filme. Beim letzten Mal, 1957, klappte es. Da war Victor Young allerdings schon tot, er starb im November 1956 an einer Hirnblutung. Der Oscar für seine Filmmusik für «Around the World in 80 Days» wurde ihm posthum verliehen. In seinen Film- Soundtracks fanden sich immer wieder unsterbliche Melodien, am bekanntesten wohl «Stella By Starlight».
