More than 400 researchers and practitioners from over 170 institutions across 27 countries are participating in 109 panels and roundtables. This conference marks EUSA's twentieth year – a cause for celebration. We have a terrific line up of plenaries and special events: on Thursday, the JCMS lecture on external relations; on Friday, an Economics interest section lecture on the ECB and the Fed; and on Saturday, a special EUSA lunch plenary, "Made in the EU: What does the study of Europe contribute?" On Thursday evening, EU Consent is hosting a lecture on widening versus deepening. Philippe Schmitter will receive the EUSA Lifetime Award for his contribution to European studies. The first award went to Schmitter's mentor, Ernst Haas. Philippe's opus is the focus of a roundtable on Friday afternoon. Save some energy for socializing. Do not miss the Prize Ceremony & Reception (free to conference participants) in the stunning Bayview Room on Friday at 6:30pm, where we toast the winners of Best Book, Best Dissertation, Best Paper. This is followed by the Banquet at 8pm, where the new Executive Committee and EUSA Chair will be inducted. The European Union Studies Association is grateful for a generous conference grant from the European Commission, financial sponsorship from our local hosts, Scripps College and the University of California at Los Angeles, and web assistance from the University of North Carolina.
