She first learned that she could be a mover and shaker at Hidden Heroes & Sheroes Greenwood United Methodist Church where she learned how to work collaboratively with others, and motivate youth. She was involved in fundraising and a range of other activities in the church. She experienced group spirit as the United Methodist Women (UMW) invited her to roller-skating, or to the movies, and even into the kitchen to whip up meals to feed the congregation. Janice joined the Aspirers Club in 1994 and over the years, she has filled many roles in the organization including serving as Secretary, Vice President, and being elected as the first female President in 2009. She has been instrumental in member recruitment, planning a successful boat-ride, assisting with the tutorial program, fundraising and shipping equipment for the hospital and Seniors Home in Montserrat. She also supports other Montserrat and Caribbean Associations in Boston, New York, Miami, and Toronto. On
