Lance Hastings President Dear Valued Member; On behalf of the entire staff, I wanted to personally thank you for your continued support of CMTA and our efforts to protect and advance manufacturing in California! In my first few months as the new leader of CMTA we have ramped up our legislative and regulatory engagement, already having met with Governor Gavin Newsom, Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, GO-Biz Director Lenny Mendonca and CalEPA Secretary Jared Blumenfeld and all legislative leaders to discuss manufacturing opportunities and concerns. We have also greatly expanded our political engagement – leveraging our Sacramento headquarters and great new office space – by hosting events for Governor Newsom, Senate President Pro Tem Toni Atkins and Speaker Anthony Rendon. All in, CMTA and our members have raised over $175,000 for political engagement in the first quarter of 2019 alone! As a result of these efforts, we’ve kept manufacturing issues front and center at the State Capitol and have continued to educate legislators and staff about the challenges you face in California – on labor, environmental, energy and many other issues. Your membership gives us the resources we need to make a strong case for manufacturing. With all of our success, and our plans to expand our capabilities for the future, we respectfully request that you consider a 10% increase from your 2018 dues (calculated in the attached invoice.) Another very helpful way to support our efforts is a voluntary contribution to the CMTA Political Action Committee (PAC) so that we can continue the expansion of our political engagement plans that are off to a great start. While contributions to the PAC are limited to $7,800, I would like to ask you to contribute $500 or $1,000 this year.
