FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Monday, Nov. 3, 2014 UFC® FIGHT NIGHT ON FOX SPORTS 1: SHOGUN vs. SAINT PREUX FEATURES BATTLE OF TOP-10 LIGHT HEAVYWEIGHTS UFC Light Heavyweights Cormier and Davis Serve as Analysts LOS ANGELES, CA – FOX Sports 1 presents UFC® FIGHT NIGHT ON FOX SPORTS 1: SHOGUN vs. SAINT PREUX on Saturday, Nov. 8 (10:30 PM ET), headlined by a clash of top- ranked light heavyweights, when No. 9 Shogun Rua (22-9) battles No. 10 light heavyweight Ovince Saint Preux (16-6). The highly anticipated bout caps off six hours of live coverage on FOX Sports 1 and FOX Sports 2 that evening. UFC FIGHT NIGHT ON FOX SPORTS 1 takes place in Uberlandia, Brazil and features a five- round main event between former world champion Shogun and Saint Preux. Back in action for the first time since his exciting rematch with Dan Henderson in March, Curitiba’s Rua pulls out all the stops to keep his home-country fans happy. Traveling to Brazil to face Shogun is Saint Preux, who’s won five of his last six fights. In addition to the Shogun vs. Saint Preux headliner, the main card features four more thrilling matchups, including a key clash between No. 3 flyweight Ian McCall (13-4-1) and No. 6 John Lineker (24-7). Brazilian middleweight Warlley Alves (8-0) looks to stay undefeated against Alan Jouban (10-2). Claudio Silva (10-1) faces off with Leon Edwards (8-1) in a welterweight bout. Juliana Lima (6-2) takes on Nina Ansaroff (6-3) in a women’s strawweight bout to kick off the main card action. Jon Anik and Kenny Florian call the fights live from Sabiazinho Gymnasium. The two-and-a-half-hour UFC FIGHT NIGHT PRELIMS feature five bouts including Diego Rivas (5-0) versus Rodolfo Rubio (12-6) in a featherweight scrap. Middleweights Caio Magalhaes (8-1) and Trevor Smith (12-5) face off. Dhiego Lima (9-2) battles Jorge de Oliveira (7-0) in a welterweight fight. Lightweights Leandro Silva (11-2-1) and Charlie Brenneman (19-7) keep the action going, while undefeated bantamweight Thomas Almeida (17-0) looks to stay unbeaten against Tim Gorman (9-3) in the opening bout of the PRELIMS. Saturday night action begins on FOX Sports 2 at 7:00 PM ET with the UFC FIGHT NIGHT PREFIGHT SHOW hosted by Karyn Bryant, with light heavyweight title contender Daniel Cormier and No. 5 light heavyweight Phil Davis previewing the night’s action. Coverage wraps up at 1:00 AM ET with FOX SPORTS LIVE, with the same crew recapping the fights. Heidi Androl interviews fighters onsite in Brazil.
