Old Business: Constitution Changes: Motion: A maximum of 2 overage players may be rostered in a game, either league or playoffs. Exceptions may be allowed at the discretion of the league membership. Teams must declare the overage players on the roster. Motion - Erickson/Onanole / 2nd – Birtle Concerns raised: A) Do we need a motion or should it be based on complaints to Hockey Manitoba when we feel that players are being over aged unnecessarily or without good cause? B) Since we don’t have the exact wording from the spring meeting should we wait until next meeting? Answer: Since we already have a Motion and a Seconder we must proceed with a vote Vote: In Favor – 5 / Against – 4 / Abstained – 4 Motion Carried Motion: Two referees should be required for all Novice, Atom and Peewee level games; league and playoffs. In the event of the absence of one scheduled referee the teams must both be in agreement to proceed. Recommendation: Put this on the website as a guideline instead of making a constitutional amendment. Decision: It will be a recommendation for the 2013-2014 reason and reviewed again at the spring meeting. 7. League Information • Home Ice Times – Hand in, Fax to 204-759-2828, Email [email protected] NO LATER THAN SEPTEMBER 30TH, 2013 • Contact sheet – Hand in, Fax 204-579-2828 (Roz) and 204-759-2521 (Webmaster), Email [email protected] (Roz) and [email protected] (Webmaster) NO LATER THAN OCTOBER 1ST, 2013 – Sheets handed out at this meeting 8. New Business New Member Application: Grand Plains Minor Hockey – Submitted a written application to become a Parkissimo member starting in the 2013-2014 season. They would be entering Peewee and Bantam teams this year All non-member associations asked to leave while members consider the request. Discussion: Concerns raised about driving distance. If Grand Plains is a member we would be obligated to send all age groups up to Grandview / Gilbert Plains to play. It was felt that this would be too much travelling time for younger age groups such as novice. If league needed to hold emergency meetings the 4 hour possible driving distances would make it difficult to schedule. Concern raised as to whether or not they would be committed long term. Other teams keep taking leaves of absence and this is frustrating for the other members in the region. Vote: In favour – 1 / Opposed – 12 Decision made to deny Grand Plains membership for the 2013-2014 season. League Fees: $40 for Members $100 for Non-members League structure: Projected team numbers Squirts – 15 teams Parkissimo Tournament - tentatively scheduled for Feb 13th – 16th 2014 in Shoal Lake Novice – 19 teams (6 non-members) 3 divisions 12 game schedule – home and away within own division Atom – 18 teams (5 non-members) 3 divisions 16 game schedule – home and away within division and then one crossover game between divisions Peewee – 14 teams (6 non-members) 2 divisions: East/West 18 game schedule - home and away within division and then one crossover game between divisions Bantam – Deadline for declaring teams for bantam – Sept 25th @ 5 pm - Notify Rosalyn Maddess League Start/End dates: League Starting Saturday, October 26th 1013 and ending Monday, February 3rd 2014.
