New European Commission Overview of nominations by Member State This document includes a summary of the names that have been speculated to be nominated by their national governments for the next mandate of the European Commission starting in autumn 2014. Both official nominations, as well as rumoured politicians as possible nominations are listed. Also, the desired portfolio is added for those Member States that have expressed it. Please note that official nominations by the Member States will continue over the next weeks in view of the special European Council on 30th of August, while the Commissioners will have to be vetted by the European Parliament through hearings with all nominated candidates.
