Special Advice for 4WD Customers Travel Start from 1st April 2016 to 31 March 2017 We greatly value your safety and patronage. For this reason we want to ensure all customers renting a 4WD from Apollo/Cheapa are fully aware of key Safety considerations. The following points are vital to your safety: • Always drive within your capability • If you’re tired, take a break! • Do not make travel times and distances too excessive • Be aware of changing road conditions • Do not drive at night • Stay on tracks and report remote travel plans to an official • Adjust gear range and tyre pressure to suit conditions • Observe safety information stickers in vehicle Irresponsible and/or careless use of 4 wheel drive vehicles can result in serious injury or death. Please exercise due caution while driving your Apollo/Cheapa 4WD! While your safety is our number one concern, we must also look after our vehicles to ensure that we can service future customer bookings. While our vehicles are purpose built, they will not withstand abuse, negligent treatment or reckless driving, and you should note that breaching the conditions agreed to in your rental contract may not only endanger you and your passengers, but could also put you at significant financial risk and responsibility. We specifically remind you of your responsibilities in your Apollo/Cheapa Rental Agreement, where it clearly informs you when (irrespective of Liability coverage taken) you will NOT be covered. This document is in lieu of calling Apollo Assist 24-48 hours prior to travel to the areas outlined in this document where written permission is required. The use of 4WD vehicles is also restricted as defined in your Rental Agreement. WRITTEN Permissions are required from Apollo/Cheapa to travel in the areas specifically listed below: * SECTION A Arnhem Land in general Gibb River Road Simpson Desert Birdsville Track Kalumburu Road as far as Drysdale Station Strzelecki Track Bloomfield Track Mereenie Loop Tanami Track Burke Developmental Road (from Chillagoe Mitchell Falls/Plateau The Bungle Bungles to Normanton) Cape Leveque North of Cape Tribulation The Plenty Highway Cape York (except between December to Oodnadatta Track Warburton Road may where travel is prohibited) Finke road (between Alice Springs and Savannah Way (from Normanton to Oodnadatta) Borroloola) We also remind you the Guest is responsible for all damage if travelling on these roads. In the event of an accident or breakdown in an area outlined it will be your full financial responsibility to pay any salvage, towing and/or recovery costs to the nearest Apollo/Cheapa branch (except where 4WD Camper Bonus Pack Cover has been purchased and applies). No replacement vehicle will be provided under any circumstances. In addition, we remind you that ALL Apollo/Cheapa 4WD Vehicles are NOT Permitted in the following areas under Any Circumstance: Boggy Hole (Finke Gorge National Park) Moreton Island Central Arnhem Road Old South Road from Maryvale to Finke Fraser Island Old Telegraph Road section of the road to Cape York Gunbarrel Highway and Old Gunbarrel Highway The Canning Stock Route Lennard River Gorge Road (The last 2 kilometres) The Lost City in Litchfield Park We are confident that our guests who exercise caution and prudence while hiring our 4WD Vehicles will have a safe and carefree journey into the best of the Australian outback. We enforce these rules for your safety and to ensure the availability of our vehicles for future customers.
