There has been for many years a growing interest in gen ea logical research . The New Hampshire Genealogical Society was incorporated by special act of the legislature , approved 24 1 9 03 w as February , , and organized on the ninth day of the following month . With the advent of the new society, n Ne w the eed of a magazine , devoted to Hampshire gene Th . e alogy and the interests of the society , was felt at once b - v m y laws pro ide for such a magazine and fix its na e . An arrangement has been entered into whereby the editor as m its n su es support and conduct, and though u der private fi . management, it is the Of cial organ of the society The chief object of this magazine is to preserve , by pub li i n cat o . therein, the genealogical records of New Hampshire There are many town histories having a large space devoted O to genealogies , which , as published, are ften incorrect and l incomp ete , depending upon the extent of the research of the author , but the publication , in full , of the original m records from Which these genealogies are compiled, is seldo or never attempted .
