The District included in this Commissariot contains the Parishes of Hamilton, Cadder, Cathcart (part of), Govan, Gorbals, Old Monkland, New Monkland, Dalserf, East Kilbride, and Shotts, in the County of Lanark Parish of in and Balder- ; the Cardross, Dumbartonshire, Campsie nock, in Stirlingshire, and Renfrew, in Renfrewshire. The Record of Testaments, which is blank from 9th March 1575 to 13th December 1591, from loth March 1641 to 24th October 1651, from 1 6th December 1681 to 9th May 1711, and from i4ih June 1745 to 12th May 1760, consists of twelve volumes, containing as follows : — " I. 8th May 1564 to 9th March 1575. IX. 9th May 171 1 to 14th June 1745. X. 1 2th May 1760 to 7th January 1788. XI. 9th January 1788 to i8th September 1817. In the first volume the Testaments are not always strictly recorded in chronological order of confirmation. The following Index contains a list of all Testaments recorded prior to 31st December 1800 in the above twelve volumes. From the original Warrants, a number of Testaments, which have not been recorded, have been included.
