Not bad for a debut record, one that spent 70 consecutive weeks on the album sales chart. This is the band that won the Grammy for Best Hard Rock Performance With Vocal for "Plush", and along with having huge success with "Sex Type Thing," "Wicked Garden," and "Creep". Most recently, of course, "Big Empty," from The Crow soundtrack is up to 12' on the Hard Hundred and 5-2" at COR this week. And now, "Vasoline," the lead track from their second album, Purple, again produced by Brendan O'Brien. Yes, he was at the core of Core. We could give you Vasoline some double-talk about how STP is at the forefront of hard-edged alternative music for the '90s.
