Minutes 7.05pm - Previous minutes & amendments proposed by Kathleen Mulloy, seconded by Mahmood Ullah - Scottish Flood Forum, Anne J asked what this was - Funding for wider community projects - Matters arising Land next to Hurlethill Court update: Suggested again that we write to the registered office and ask what is planned. 3. Police Report – Police Scotland 7.15pm No further detailed updates – only trends. PC Belinda – trespass on curtilage of building – couple of these section 57s, bins set alight here at hall, several vandalisms, please give us a call if you see anything – reckless bus window smashing, some common assaults in area. Always check for id of workmen. Q. Plant pots taken late at night – not so many police after midnight so don’t see teenagers out late Police on patrol can be thin on the ground late at night Q. Leverndale incidents over last few weeks – are there any details – drugs, vandalisms, thefts – there is an officer PC Tracy McDonald assigned to the QE and Leverndale. Q. Are incidents related to hospital or coincidental? Difficult to say without going into details. Q. Speeding – pass on reg number if you can. 4. Reports: 7.25pm Councillor McDonald update- - From Cllr Spear update – Brockburn & Linthaugh Road will be resurfaced this quarter. Grit bin relocated at Kempsthorn Cres. Broken 20 signs to be removed from Crookston Castle school. Crossing staff numbers reduced due to illness. - Leithland Road being resurfaced & Kempsthorn – bus shelters that were vandalised being repaired. Gas roadworks ongoing causing area disruption. - St Monica’s visit – suggested they contact CC re. use of woodland – and routes around woodland - Any word on buses? Helen – not so far. - Treasurer – £746.19 – AD investigated costs of hi- viz jackets – will get 4 with white writing. Planning & Licensing - Helen - is there any update from 20th-26th Feb 1900429FUL 49 Sanquhar Drive- use of amenity/open space as garden ground and erection of timber fence. These are both residential and needs chased up again. Leverndale site – Miller Homes appealed to Scottish Government but have been refused there too. This is final decision. Or is it? • School ground up for sale – capital receipt sought – ideas include – community asset transfer – shared garden – allotments – sheds for meetings. If community proposal could be refined for council consideration we should move this forward as soon as possible - Mahmood Ullah & Anne J to take forward. 5. Correspondence - CB 7.45pm Regional Transport Strategy- response submitted Are we still wanting to do a Google doc poll on transport in the area? Cllr Spear was to revisit. CC Planning Meeting/Stakeholder Event – Update from Andrew to come. Participatory budget (PB) – Meeting –this covered information on what a PB is and what it does- it is essentially how ordinary people can decide/spend a municipal budget. £200,000 awarded in last period to local projects – at Cinema event helped by Swamp and youth citizen’s panel. Evaluation work on-going and similar funding coming next year. Andrew gave feedback – Dale to check slide pack and report back at next meeting. Dale to report back next time 6. Walk about with Council Officer(s) – Update from All 7.50pm previous and arrange next date. Last walk-about (Leverndale) was mid-May to sync with Area Partnership meeting which Cllr Spear proposed be held at Leithland Neighbourhood Centre. Cllr Spear took photos of Hurlethill lighting, and land adjacent. Looks like local tipping. Has been cleaned up. Bins at Roughmussel – counted 12 within half a mile. 7. Greater Pollok Area Partnership update HMcD/Cllr RS 8.00pm Not met since last meeting of H&B CC, but 6 per year now planned rather than 4. Next is Fri 14th June Last meeting had presentation about litter bin replacement – Helen – tweaked bins have been made bigger – have noticed big difference in litter drop. 9300 to be replaced across city – size increased by 50% Significant grants awarded. Increased access to Pollok House from Pollokshaws West – e.g. mini-bus transfer. 8. Leaflet drop 8.05pm AD to liaise with DH. Will put up text to finesse New text to be discussed in the Facebook group Also suggested to put banners with leaflets in eg health centres etc. 9. AOCB/Public Input LD/All 8.20pm Road markings- Crookston Castle/Glenside- Cllr Hussain- Land and Environment Services will look into this and arrange the most appropriate measure Zigzags completed – but need extended further – Helen. Work promised by 3rd May not done. Fireworks Committee – update/discussion from those interested. Reps from planning body – Alan & Michelle – Events – Rides – Crookston Castle fireworks – local chap Dean has been organising of years – up to 2500 people turned up – Swamp also keen for event – e.g. volunteers, security, funding, red-tape. Local acts on stage. Bonfire stumbling point – so this year they’ll just try without, but add history etc. Also looking at closing road for a few hours – online ticketing -parking – stewards – funding – 1st aid, stage. What do local folk want? Empowering Communities Fund open until Fri 14th June – 6pm. Do we have any proposals? Top of St Monica’s down to Crookston Rd and Brockburn Rd and down to Belltrees crescent- dog dirt – DK has sent an email but no response from Community Safety Glasgow – They don’t exist anymore – get current email. Scottish Flood Forum- communities affected by flooding- event was on Sat 6th April at DoubleTree Hilton. Andrew Mellis volunteered to go – Update? Will request list of CCs from Steven Dowling so we can update website. Dale coordinating updates. Thanks to Claire for contributions. Email to councillors from Helen – steps behind homes with bins - can be heavy – request for ramp – no joined up answer from Council & GHA – Rhiannon to pursue solution. We can appoint Associate Community Councillors as desired without approval by GCC, e.g. for those not on voter’s roll 11.
