It is a pleasure to work with the many Farm Bureau Women volunteers to advocate, communicate, and educate for our agriculture industry. Congratulations for the excellent work you do in your counties as we grow stronger. In our ever changing world with the fast growing population, our Farm Bureau Women must work together in every opportunity to share the important message of agriculture and how agriculture is the source of our food, fiber, and fuel. Farm Bureau Women must stay informed as we tell our story in all our programs of work. We need to continue to be involved in the legislative process, seek networking opportunities, as well as be involved with the YF&R, FFA, 4-H, FCCLA, and Agriculture in the Classroom. Your state committee is available to work with the County Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership programs and help any way we can. Please contact us if we can help you. PUBLIC POLICY TENNESSEE FARM BUREAU FEDERATION March 1, 2017 To: Farm Bureau Women’s Leadership Committee Members Dear Ladies, Thank you for the valuable service and passion you provide throughout the year assisting the Tennessee Farm Bureau in our mission to promote, protect, and enhance the industry of agriculture in our great state. With less than 2% now engaged in agriculture, the challenge to educate consumers is greater now than ever. The efforts of the Tennessee Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committees in advocacy and legislation, with Agriculture in the Classroom, farm tour activities, commodity and fair displays, Fill a Ford with Food events, and TN Agriculture Literacy Week are critical to ensuring the significance of the agriculture industry is not forgotten. I encourage you to continually search and include others whom possess the love and ability to share the story of agriculture, especially the younger generation. With today's technology, there are many more avenues for sharing information than ever before, and it's vital we utilize as many as possible. Farm Bureau Women's Leadership Committees have contributed greatly to the past successes within the Tennessee Farm Bureau. As we begin a new year, the challenges may be great, but the opportunities are greater. With your involvement, we will present a unified effort to successfully promote and shape the future of our great industry. Our staff at the Tennessee Farm Bureau is available to assist you should the need arise. Have a great year! Sincerely, Jeff Aiken, President Tennessee Farm Bureau Federation 147 Bear Creek Pike, Columbia, TN 38401 P.O.
