How To: Send a Template from a Desktop/Laptop to the App This document will walk through the steps of sending a template from a Desktop/Laptop to the App using the Palm-Tech Cloud Drive There are two parts to getting a template from a desktop/laptop to the app. the first part is getting the template to the Cloud Drive from a desktop/laptop, and the second part is getting the template from the Cloud Drive to the App. Part I - Sending a Template to the Cloud Drive from a Desktop/Laptop There are two ways to upload a template to the Cloud Drive from a desktop/laptop. 1. The first and easiest method is to send it over immediately after you create the template. After you walk through the processing of saving your template (Tools->Save As Template) a box will appear prompting you to send your template to your Cloud Drive. Click ‘Yes’ and the newly created template will be uploaded. If you follow this step, you can skip forward to Part II of this HOW TO. 2. The second method involves a few more steps, but is necessary if you want to upload an existing template, and not one that was just created. a. This will bring up the Manage Cloud Drive screen. 4. This will bring up the Advanced Manage Cloud Screen. On this screen you can Upload files from your PC to the Cloud Drive, download files from your Cloud Drive to your PC, and delete files from your Cloud Drive. We want to upload a template from our PC to the Cloud. To do this, click ‘Upload from PC’ on the right in the section for Templates. 6. Now, we need to select which Template we want to upload. After a few moments, the template will be on your Cloud Drive. You are now ready to open the Palm-Tech app on your portable device to download the library. Part II – Downloading a template from the Cloud Drive to the App 1. First Open the Palm-Tech app on your mobile device. On the main screen, tap on New 2. This brings up the Choose Template screen. Now, tap on ‘My Custom Small House.tmx’. 4. You have now started a new inspection with the template. This will bring up the ‘Save As’ screen where you can give your new inspection a name and begin your inspection. The template has also been downloaded to the local device.
