The area of the hamlet is 4560 acres, chiefly the property of Nash V. E. Vaughan~ Esq., who is also lord of the manor. The Resolven Collieries (steam coal, on Government list) are in the vicinity, also the fire-brick works. The places of worship are, the parish church, and chapels for the Baptists, Independents, and :Methodists. The living is a vicarage in the patronnge of the l\1arquis of -Bute; annual value, £70; the Rev. D. Griffiths is the vicar. There is a school conducted on the National system. Clyne hamlet comprises 2500 acres; the rateable value is £669. The landowners are, A. S. Ayrton, Esq., M.P.; William Jones, Esq., of Tyn­ yr-heol; and the executors of the late H. J. Grant, Esq., are lords of the manor. There are no places of worship in the hamlet. PosTAL REGULATIONs.
