Gaylord Cable Networks Finalizes Partnership Involving Mexican Music Channel Video Rola March 28, 2000 NASHVILLE, Tenn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 28, 2000--Gaylord Cable Networks, part of Gaylord Entertainment Company (NYSE:GET), has completed a partnership agreement with Megacable, Mexico's second largest cable television operator. Video Rola, a 24-hour video channel now available in Mexico and featuring regional Mexican music, is the initial focus of the partnership. As a partner with Megacable, Gaylord Cable Networks will expand Video Rola into U.S. markets and will be responsible for Video Rola's distribution, sales and marketing in the U.S. It also will provide exposure for American country music through special programming blocks for Video Rola to air in Mexico and in other countries outside the U.S. "Megacable is a major player in the Mexican TV market, and we believe there is a tremendous market in the U.S. for a video channel featuring Mexican music," said Cindy Wilson, president of Gaylord Cable Networks. "Mexican music is one of the most popular Spanish-language radio formats in the U.S., and Video Rola is the first video outlet to cater exclusively to this increasingly popular style of music." Video Rola - which highlights styles such as banda, grupera, ranchero and mariachi - is programmed in Guadalajara. "Video Rola's niche is well defined and does not overlap with the programs or formats that are currently available. We feel it has great potential among the Hispanic markets in the U.S.," said Enrique Yamuni, president of Megacable. "Gaylord Entertainment is a wonderful partner. It has expertise in distribution of programming along with an excellent reputation among cable systems in the U.S. and in international markets. This is a great partnership for a great product," Yamuni continued. In addition to the relationship with Video Rola, Gaylord Cable Networks includes Country Music Television International, Z Music Television and minority ownership of TVA and Solo Tango, two cable channels in Argentina. Megacable is the second largest cable operator in Mexico, operating in seven states and 28 cities, including Guadalajara and Puebla, Mexico's second- and fourth-largest cities. Megacable is headquartered in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico. Gaylord Entertainment is a diversified entertainment company operating in three business groups: hospitality and attractions, creative content and interactive media.
