Nevada Republican Club Recommendations for Contested Judicial Races Since 1981, the Nevada Republican Club (NRC) has brought conservatives together to educate our members on current issues and policies and to promote sound, honest & ethical government at all levels. Since Judicial races are nonpartisan, the NRC recommends a slate of judicial candidates based on the candidate's experience, competence, integrity, honesty, and courtroom demeanor. The Club measured these qualities based on interviews of, and opinions and recommendations from, (i) conservative, practicing attorneys in family and state district courts and (ii) courtroom insiders (including court clerks and administrators). We also reviewed any available videotaped debates of the judicial candidates hosted by the Las Vegas Review Journal. We reviewed the candidate's Mardindale-Hubbell rating, website, and caseload to determine their expertise and experience. In two races, the Club declined to make a recommendation, because, in our opinion, the candidates are equally qualified.
