Sese, duly seconded, all present members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod approved the following City Resolution on second and final reading: CITY RESOLUTION NO. 2008-057 Authors: Councilors H.A. Jacome, V.T. Sese, T.C.T. Puno, M.Q. Lagdameo and E.S. Gonzales A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE HONORABLE MAYOR JEJOMAR C. BINAY TO ENTER, FOR AND BEHALF OF THE CITY GOVERNMENT, INTO A MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT WITH EARTH CALLS HELP AND VARIOUS NATIONAL GOVERNMENT AGENCIES ON THE CREATION OF THE MAKATI CITY ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION COUNCIL, SUBJECT TO ALL LAWS AND EXISTING LEGAL RULES AND REGULATIONS. WHEREAS, the City Government, Earth Calls Help and concerned National Government Agencies are one towards the common goal of protecting the environment; WHEREAS, the parties have agreed to work on the creation of the Makati Environmental Protection Council to serve as a watchdog against environmental degradations; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED BY THE SANGGUNIANG PANLUNGSOD OF MAKATI, METRO MANILA, BY VIRTUE OF THE POWERS VESTED IN IT BY LAW, IN SESSION ASSEMBLED, to authorize the Honorable Mayor Jejomar C. Binay to enter, for and behalf of the City Government, into a Memorandum of Agreement with Earth Calls Help and various National Government Agencies on the creation of the Makati Environmental Protection Council.
