07 PREVIEW: GP CANADA 2013 CANADA DRIVER QUOTE SEBASTIAN VETTEL Tell us why you like the Canadian Grand Prix: The circuit has a nice rhythm and it’s one of the best races we have all year. The atmosphere and fans are great, the whole city lives F1 for the whole week and that makes us feel very special. I like it. What’s your best memory from there (any era)? Obviously one of the craziest moments was in 2011. There was so much rain; I haven’t seen that much rain carry on for so long since! During the race we had a big break and were in the lead. The race was difficult and with half a lap to go, I made my first mistake of the race which cost us the win. But that’s racing and it’s probably great for the fans to watch when they don’t know who is going to win until the last moment. DRIVER QUOTE MARK WEBBER Tell us why you like the Canadian Grand Prix: Canada is a really good race. It’s a popular Grand Prix for fans and drivers; the fans are very passionate and it’s always an interesting Grand Prix because it’s another street circuit. There are some very good restaurants in Montreal, the whole city stops for the race and the atmosphere is a bit more traditional I would say. What’s your best memory from there (any era)? I haven’t been on the podium there yet, so I need to sort that out. It’s not a favourite memory, but I remember when (Nigel) Mansell retired on the last lap when he was in the lead. Also when Jean Alesi won his only race there, that was good. PADDOCK VIEW PADDOCK VIEW The Monaco Paddock/ Energy Station experience… WORLD OF RED BULL WORLD OF RED BULL RED BULL FLUGTAG Red Bull Flugtag challenges the brave and brainy to design and build homemade flying machines. And then launch them off a 22-foot high flight deck in hopes of soaring into the wild blue yonder… or more often than not, plunging into the water below. Flugtag, which means “flying day” in German, pushes the envelope of human- powered flight and teams are judged on: flight distance, creativity and showmanship. These criteria have inspired flying tacos, prehistoric pterodactyls and even winnebagos with wings to grace the Flugtag flight decks! The very first Red Bull Flugtag took place in Vienna, Austria in 1992 and since then more than 100 Red Bull Flugtags have been held. Canada will host its own event on 27 July 2013 in Ottawa-Gatineau. But be quck! Applications close today (31 May). For more information: http://flugtag.redbull.com SHOW CAR SHOW CAR Two events are coming up in the two weeks after the Canadian GP. First up, Antonio Felix da Costa will be showing The Stig how it’s done, as he takes the wheel of the RB7 in Durban on 15 and 16 June for the Top Gear Festival of Speed. Antonio will be driving on the new and improved Top Gear Street Circuit and there’s rumour that The Stig may even have a go behind the wheel… Then, as Antonio gets back to the serious business of competing in FR 3.5, David Coulthard will be in the RB7 as we head to Moscow for the World Series by Renault the following weekend. DC will be driving the 2011 championship-winning car for fans at the Moscow Raceway, an event which saw over 85,000 spectators last year. OPEN HOUSE Infiniti Red Bull Racing will be hosting a special #OPENHOUSE event for lucky competition winners on Friday 21 June at the Factory – ahead of the British Grand Prix. For a chance of winning a place at this event, fans need to go to www.infiniti-redbullracing.com. .
