In 2014-2015 and beyond her engagements include: Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Gretel (Hänsel und Gretel) at the Teatro Real, Zemlinsky’s Lyric Symphony with the Luxemburg Philharmonic, Arvo Pärt’s “Como cierva sedienta” with the Spanish National Orchestra, Hildegard in Emma & Eginhard at the Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin and Brahms’s Requiem at the Cite de la Musique in Paris. Sylvia has appeared at many of the world’s finest opera houses and festivals including La Scala Milan, Berlin Staatsoper, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper, The Bolshoi Theatre, Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Edinburgh, Baden Baden, Salzburg and Verbier festivals. Sylvia is also much in demand in concert and is a celebrated recitalist and has worked with pianists such as Wolfram Rieger, Charles Spencer and Malcolm Martineau; and with conductors such as Claudio Abbado, Daniel Barenboim, Philippe Jordan, Rene Jacobs, Fabio Luisi, Nikolaus Harnoncourt, Sir Colin Davis, Gustavo Dudamel Patrick Fournillier, Marc Minkowski, Ivor Bolton, Yves Abel, Jean Christophe Spinosi, Helmut Rilling and Christopher Hogwood. Highlights of recent seasons include a concert tour of Il Barbiere di Siviglia with Jean- Christophe Spinosi; the role of Maria in a new production of The Sound of Music at Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris; a return to the Verbier in Beethoven’s Fidelio with Marc Minkowski; a quartet with Bernarda Fink, Michael Schade and Thomas Quasthoff in a major tour of the USA and Europe accompanied by Malcolm Martineau & Justus Zeyen, and recitals at the Schubertiade Schwarzenberg, at the Wigmore Hall for the Rosenblatt Recital Series at St John’s Smith Square, at De Singel Antwerp and for the Verbier Festival. Recent highlights on the concert platform include a Christmas concert in Norway (broadcast on television worldwide), her debut recital at the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, appearances in Vienna (with José Carreras), Dusseldorf, Prague, Lisbon, Grenoble, Halle, Copenhagen, Oslo, and for the Verbier Festival, Salzburg Mozartwoche & Salzburg Festival with Ivor Bolton and Nikolaus Harnoncourt. On stage, recent appearances include at Deutsche Staatsoper Berlin, Wiener Staatsoper, Teatro Real Madrid and Maggio Musicale Florence. Sylvia first solo disc of Spanish Songs (with Malcolm Martineau) was released in February 2013 on Hyperion Records to unanimous critical acclaim. .
