Funding of joined workshops and short-term programmes for graduate students and academic staff from 4EU+ universities Heidelberg University is a member of the 4EU+ alliance, consisting of Charles University in Prague, Heidelberg University, Sorbonne University in Paris, the University of Warsaw, the University of Copenhagen and the University of Milan. 4EU+ aims to create a new quality of cooperation between the six universities in manifold areas. The goal is the creation of a ‘European University’ with compatible courses of study, flexible study paths for students and manifold mobility options for students and academic staff (www.uni-heidelberg.de/en/4eu-european-university-alliance). The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides financial support for joined workshops and short-term programmes in the framework of its supporting programme ‘European University Networks’. Funding is available e.g. for workshops, block seminars, summer schools etc. at Heidelberg University for graduate students (Master and Doctoral) from 4EU+ universities. Primarily activities that are not eligible for funding from the „Flagship Projects“ (https://4euplus.eu/4EU-35.html) of the EU proposal „European Universities“ are invited to apply. Financial support of up to € 12.000 per activity can be provided for subsistence allowances for 5 days for up to 20 graduate students and 5 academic staff from 4EU+ partner universities as well as for conference material. Beside Heidelberg University a minimum of two further 4EU+ universities should participate in the activity. Activities Duration Extend of funding Workshops / block seminars up to 5 days Subsistence allowance for graduate students and / summer schools for academic staff from partner universities graduate students and academic staff from 4EU+ Calculation: partner universities € 80 per graduate student per day € 120 per academic staff per day for accommodation and catering for participants Conference material € 260 Funding period: January to July 2021 Application documents ▪ 4EU+ application form (short-term programmes) ▪ Description of the activity including the names of the involved partner universities and the estimated number of participants (1 page) ▪ Description of the academic exchange and cooperation in teaching and research with the involved partner universities (1 page) ▪ Cost calculation Application forms can be found on the webpage mentioned above. Applications have to be submitted before the start of the activity. A backdated funding is not possible.
