The school was founded in 2001 as a private coeducational college-preparatory school, and has a current total enrollment of 851 students. The first graduating cohort received their Diplomas in 2010. Thus, making the program non-selective. To accommodate the varying abilities of all students, Concordian offers a wide-range of DP subjects within the six subject groups. Concordian High School Diploma Requirements (Grades 9-12) The school year is divided into two semesters. The Subject Credit first semester begins in early August and ends in mid- English 4 January and the second semester ends in early June. On the Math 3 successful completion of each subject over two Social Sciences 3 semesters per year, the students receive 1 credit. Sciences 3 Foreign Language 4 Graduation requirements for a Concordian High School Visual/ Performing Arts/ Design 2 Diploma is a minimum of 24 academic credits including Theory of Knowledge 2 Service Learning and Creativity, Action and Service for 4 Physical Education/ Health 2 years. Each student will take a minimum of 3 HL Subjects and 3 SL Subjects. IB Grade Group 1: Studies in Language and Literature 7 English/Chinese/Thai Literature, English/Chinese/Thai Language and Literature, Literature & Performance** SL 6 Group 2: Language Acquisition English B HL, Mandarin B, Mandarin ab initio SL, Spanish ab initio SL 5 Group 3: Individuals and Societies Business and Management, Economics, History 4 Group 4: Experimental Sciences Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Systems and Societies** SL, 3 Computer Science Group 5: Mathematics 2 Math HL, Math SL and Math Studies SL Group 6: The Arts 1 Visual Arts, Theater To fulfill the DP requirements, each student must: select six subjects from Groups 1-6; usually three at Higher Level (HL) and three at Standard Level (SL) complete the Theory of Knowledge (TOK) course. complete the Research/Investigative 4,000 word Extended Essay (EE). complete the Creativity, Action and Service (CAS) component.
