Each week, for the duration of the Expo, we will provide a snapshot of some of the events and activities at the Canada Pavilion. Media can also contact us by e-mail at [email protected] Special Events April 17 – 19: Randall Gossen Meet Dr. Gossen, an oil executive from Calgary, Alberta who has helped build the bridge between the oil industry and environmental and social responsibility. He is one of the six Canadians featured in the public presentation of the Canada Pavilion who share their unique perspective on what it means to be Canadian. Performing on the Global Common 2 Stage April 18 – 19: Sampar (Samuel Parent) (3:30 pm) Take in a live performance of caricature and illustration with Sampar, a multi-talented author and artis t from Victoriaville, Québec. He will "duel" with six different Japanese cartoonists to produce a giant cartoon strip on a theme provided at the event. April 23: Shaye (3:30 pm) Individually, Kim Stockwood, Damhnait Doyle and Tara MacLean are three of Canada’s most exceptionally talented singer-songwriters. Together as Shaye, they are one of the most exciting musical collaborations that Canada has seen in a long time. Get a tas te of the East Coast with the music of this Juno Award-winning trio from Newfoundland and Prince Edward Island as they begin their series of performances on the Global Common 2 stage. Visiting this Week in the Manulife VIP Lounge of the Canada Pavilion April 20 and 22: Canadian Wheat Board Featuring the Executive Vice President of the Canadian Wheat Board, activities will include business meetings with current and potential clients in Japan, as well as a reception.
