Welcome & Introductions Meeting opened 19:00. 2. Apologies for absence Apologies were noted. 3. Minutes of the previous annual general meeting Minutes of the meeting held on 23.09.20 were approved as correct. 4. Matters arising None. 5. Election of Chairman Graham Bridgman nominated Royce Longton as Chairman, Penee Chopping seconded. Royce Longton was duly elected as the Burghfield & Mortimer Neighbourhood Action Group Chairman. 6. Election of Vice-Chairman Graham Bridgman nominated Nick Carter as Vice-Chairman, Penee Chopping seconded. Nick Carter was duly elected as the Burghfield & Mortimer Neighbourhood Action Group Vice- Chairman. 7. Election of Secretary Graham Bridgman nominated Debbie Fisher as Secretary, Penee Chopping seconded. Debbie Fisher was duly elected as the Burghfield & Mortimer Neighbourhood Action Group Secretary. Repeated fly-tipping at land adjacent to College Piece, Mortimer Sovereign Housing have been involved as there is no obvious vehicular access so the fly- tipping is more likely to have been committed by locals on foot. As the waste has been dumped on private land, WBDC is not responsible for clearing it away. Discussions are being held to see if it will be possible to provide a skip in the College Piece area to discourage further fly-tipping. 7. V1.1 Page 4 of 7 TVP have carried out speed checking in Clayhill Road and Reading Road, Burghfield recently. In general, the crime figures have increased since the lockdown measures have been eased. 13. Reports from member Parishes ALDERMASTON No report. BEECH HILL No report. BURGHFIELD There has been an incident of graffiti at the NISA shop in Burghfield. MORTIMER Environmental Health are investigating the evidence & witness statements from the Budgens fly-tipping incident. PADWORTH No report. SILCHESTER No report. SULHAMSTEAD No report. UFTON NERVET A local farmer who had experienced numerous groups of teenagers, dog walkers and picnicers using one of his fields without permission has offered his thanks to Thames Valley Police for their prompt response and support in addressing this problem. V1.1 Page 5 of 7 Ufton Nervet still have ongoing issues with speeding vehicles in the Church & School areas. The playground does not allow dogs, but a small minority of people have been taking their dogs into the playground which has prevented other locals from using the facility. Could TVP possibly visit the area if time permits & ask the dog owners to refrain from taking their dogs into the playground area. A security camera that was placed on some residential gates has been taken. WOKEFIELD Nothing to report. 14. AOB TVP are looking to introduce the possibility of ‘ride along’ offers for Parish Council representatives after the Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted. The offer is to join an evening TVP vehicle patrol with the neighbourhood policing team for an hour+ in our local area to help understand how the neighbourhood policing team approach prevention and incidents. A short application form will need to be completed by any Councilors applying for the opportunity. Mortimer are intending to host a Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration on Friday 3rd June and Saturday 4th June. Graham B asked if TVP would like to have a stand at the function (as they have for previous events). Date of next meeting Next meeting will be on Wednesday 11th August at 7pm. The location is to be confirmed.
