GENERAL POLICY This report covers the period from August 1, 2007 through July 31, 2008. ABC Radio Los Angeles Assets, LLC, licensee of KDIS-AM (“KDIS” or the “Station”) and KSPN-AM (“KSPN” or the “Station”) has a longstanding commitment to a policy of equal employment and advancement opportunities for all employees and applicants for employment without regard to race, religion, color, sex, sexual orientation, national origin, age, marital status, covered veteran status, mental or physical disability, pregnancy, or any other basis prohibited by state or federal law. This commitment to fair employment practices applies to every aspect of the employment process to ensure that equal consideration is extended to all employees and applicants in recruitment, selection procedure, employee development, performance evaluation, promotions, transfers, benefits and other aspects of employment. It is KDIS and KSPN’s policy to promote the realization of equal employment opportunity through a positive, continuing program of specific recruitment, outreach, hiring, promotion and other practices designed to ensure the full realization of equal employment opportunity. II. RESPONSIBILITY Natalie Eig, Station Manager of KDIS, is the EEO officer at KDIS responsible for the administration and implementation of our Equal Employment Opportunity Program and the accuracy of the information documented in this report. Bob Koontz, Vice President and General Manager of KSPN, is the EEO officer at KSPN responsible for the administration and implementation of our Equal Employment Opportunity Program and the accuracy of the information documented in this report. III. INTERNAL RECORD KEEPING, PUBLICITY AND POSITIONS FILLED In compliance with EEO rules, KDIS and KSPN has publicized job vacancies for the Station through a combination of some or all of the following: posting these positions on the Station’s website; posting the positions on the Southern California Broadcasters Association’s (SCBA) website and in their job bank newsletter, which in turn is sent to a list of schools and organizations (see Attachment “A-2”); listing the positions in the ABC and Disney Corporate Job Listings; and listing the positions with the Employment Development Department (EDD), which links to 1,800 state employment service offices nationwide through America’s Job Bank and the CalJOBS database. KDIS maintains a distribution/contact list of local community-based organizations and schools to which notices of available positions are sent. The distribution/contact list is included as part of Attachment “A-1”. This list is updated periodically. KDIS and KSPN have asked interested organizations to notify EEO Report – 8/1/08 1 of 59 it if they wish to be placed on the distribution/contact list. During the reporting year, solicitation of organizations for the Station mailing list was conducted through a combination of a notice on our web site, quarterly on-air announcements, and a classified advertisement in the San Gabriel Valley Tribune, Pasadena Star News, Whittier Daily News on 9/10/2007. In addition, all KDIS openings are also posted on Hotjobs.com and with the Direct Employers Associate List. The Direct Employers Association is a nonprofit consortium of leading U.S. corporations that collects postings from member websites and distributes them to 713 diversity, disabled Americans, unemployment, schools, state organizations and veteran sites (see Attachment A-3 ). The EEO Rules include record keeping and reporting requirements for broadcasters. In accordance with these provisions, KDIS and KSPN create a file for each full-time vacancy. The file contains, among other items, copies of the job listing for all sources used to recruit interviewees for the position. The EEO file also includes information on the station’s recruitment initiatives. The following are the positions filled for the Station during the period of 8/1/07 to 7/31/08: KDIS-AM Account Executive Date position was open: 11/2/07 Date position was filled: 2/11/08 To fill this vacancy, the Station posted the position on the website of our sister station KSPN(AM), the Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) website and job bank newsletter, Hot Jobs.com and monster.com, as well as in the ABC and Disney Corporate Job Listings. Additionally, a notice was sent to our outreach list regarding this open position (see Attachment A-1). Thirteen candidates were interviewed. Referral sources of the candidates interviewed were as follows: SCBA – 1; Disney employee referral – 1; Career Builders website – 3; Disney website – 1; Monster.com website - 3; Internet Job Search – 1; Hotjobs.com website - 3. The candidate hired was referred by Careerbuilders.com. Promotion Coordinator Date position was open: 4/17/08 Date position was filled: 6/23/08 To fill this vacancy, the Station posted the position on the website of our sister station KSPN(AM), on the Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) website and in its job bank newsletter, HotJobs.com on monster.com, on the California Broadcasters Association website CBA.com, in the ABC and Disney Corporate Job Listings, and in an ad posting in the Tolucan Times on 6/4/08. Additionally, a notice was sent to our outreach list regarding this open position (see Attachment A-1). Seven candidates were interviewed. Referral sources of the candidates interviewed were as follows: Disney website – 1; Industry referral – 3;– Internal Candidates (part-time staff) – 2. The candidate hired was a part-time Administrative Assistant for KDIS, so this job represented an internal promotion for the person hired. Broadcast Engineer EEO Report – 8/1/08 2 of 59 Date position was open: 5/1/07 Date position was filled: 9/5/07 To fill this vacancy, the Station posted the position on the web site of its sister station KSPN-AM, on the Southern California Broadcasters Association (SBCA) website and in its job bank newsletter, HotJobs.com, Monster.com and in the ABC and Disney Corporate Job Listings. Three candidates were interviewed. Referral sources of the candidates interviewed were as follows: Society of Broadcast Engineers – 1, Disney Careers website – 2. The person hired was referred by the Society of Broadcast Engineers. KSPN-AM Update Anchor Date position was open: 3/20/07 Date position was filled: 11/26/07 To fill this vacancy, the Station posted the position our website for KSPN(AM) www.710espn.com, the Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) website and job bank newsletter, in the ABC and Disney Corporate Job Listings, AllAccess.com and America’s Job Bank. Seven candidates were interviewed. Referral sources of the candidates interviewed were as follows: All Access – 1; KSPN website – 2; Industry Referral – 4. The person hired was an Industry Referral. Account Executive Date position was open: 7/2/07 Date position was filled: 10/15/07 To fill this vacancy, the Station posted the position on our website for KSPN (AM) www.710espn.com, the Southern California Broadcasters Association (SCBA) website and job bank newsletter, in the ABC and Disney Corporate Job Listings, Monster.com and Hotjobs.com.
