Conference games still tied after a five-minute 5-on-5 overtime advance to a five-minute 3-on-3 overtime (and sudden victory shootout if still tied) with the team that wins the second overtime/shootout receiving an extra point in the standings (3/SW in the standings), making all games worth three (3) points. The 3-on-3 overtime and shootouts only affect conference standings, while the game is officially a tie for NCAA purposes. aCts aNd igures HiS eek S ameS NCHC F F t W ’ g • This weekend marks the first full weekend of conference play with all Friday, Nov. 9 eight NCHC teams facing conference foes. Six teams began NCHC play last *Omaha at Western Michigan, 7:00 p.m. ET weekend, while Minnesota Duluth and North Dakota both open conference *No. 11/11 North Dakota at No. 19 Miami, 7:35 p.m. ET play this weekend. The Bulldogs enter NCHC play on an NCAA-best six- *No. 5/5 Denver at No. 2/2 St. Cloud State, 7:07 p.m. CT game winning streak, while Denver is riding a six-game unbeaten streak to *Colorado College at No. 1/1 Minnesota Duluth, 7:07 p.m. CT start the season (5-0-1), tying UMD for the longest active unbeaten streak in the NCAA. The Pioneers are the only team in the country without a loss Saturday, Nov. 10 so far this season, but will be tested the next three weeks facing the No. 2 *Omaha at Western Michigan, 7:00 p.m. ET team in the USCHO Poll this week (St. Cloud State), the No. 1 team next *No. 11/11 North Dakota at No. 19 Miami, 7:05 p.m. ET week (UMD) and the No. 4 team (Providence) in two weeks. *No. 5/5 Denver at No. 2/2 St. Cloud State, 6:07 p.m. CT • Denver moved into the top 5 of both national polls this week, while TV: FOX Sports North PLUS/FOX College Sports Pacific Minnesota Duluth and St. Cloud State remained atop the polls, giving the *Colorado College at No. 1/1 Minnesota Duluth, 7:07 p.m. CT NCHC three teams in the top five of both the USCHO.com Poll and theUSA TV: Altitude Today/USA Hockey Magazine Poll. In all, five NCHC teams are ranked in the USCHO Poll, second-most from one conference, as North Dakota jumped to * National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) game No. 11 and Miami rose to No. 19, its highest ranking since climbing to 17th in November of 2015. (page 9) LaSt Week’S ReSuLtS • Two NCHC players recorded hat tricks last weekend in Denver senior Friday, Nov. 2 forward Jarid Lukosevicius, who earned NCAA First Star of the Week honors, and North Dakota senior forward Rhett Gardner. There have been *No. 20 Miami 4, at Omaha 1 15 hat tricks recorded in NCAA Division I men’s hockey this season and at No. 14/15 North Dakota 5, No. 16 Wisconsin 0 four of them have come from NCHC players (26.7 percent). Lukosevicius *at No. 8/7 Denver 5, Western Michigan 2 was the second DU player to tally a hat trick this season (junior Liam *No. 2/2 St. Cloud State 5, at Colorado College 3 Finlay), making the Pioneers and Bowling Green the only teams with two hat tricks already this season. Saturday, Nov. 3 • Defensemen have been providing NCHC teams offense from the blue *at Omaha 6, No. 20 Miami 3 line as three of the top four highest-scoring blue lines in the country play at No. 14/15 North Dakota 3, No. 16 Wisconsin 2 (OT) in the NCHC. St. Cloud State is second with 31 points from defensemen, *at No. 8/7 Denver 4, Western Michigan 3 (OT) including an NCAA-best 28 assists, while Miami is third with 29 points and *No. 2/2 St. Cloud State 2, at Colorado College 1 UMD is fourth (26 points). Miami and North Dakota both have received eight goals from defensemen so far, tying for second nationally in goals * National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) game by defensemen. Individually, UMD sophomore Scott Perunovich and SCSU junior Jack Ahcan are both tied for second nationally among blue Upcoming Games on NCHC.tv liners with 11 points, while their 10 assists are tied for first in the NCAA Friday, Nov. 9 and Saturday, Nov. 10 among defensemen.
