Seachtain um Chuimsiú Sóisialta 2011 Social Inclusion Week 2011 Monday 19th - Saturday 24th September 2011 Event Guide Introduction It gives me great pleasure as Mayor of Donegal to introduce our annual Social Inclusion Week Programme. This week of events give us the opportunity to celebrate and showcase the very positive work that is being undertaken at a local level to combat poverty and social exclusion. It also gives us the opportunity to increase awareness and understanding of inclusion and diversity in Donegal. I wish every success to the week of events and would urge everyone to make use of the wide range of local services and facilities available and to become increasingly involved in your local community. I would like to thank the organisers and all the participants of Social Inclusion Week 2011 and hope that you will join in and celebrate this exciting programme of events. Cllr. Noel McBride, Mayor of Donegal I am delighted to introduce the Social Inclusion Week brochure 2011 and I would like to acknowledge and thank all participating agencies and organisations throughout the county. Social inclusion is about creating a society where everyone experiences full and equal participation in all aspects of life and Donegal County Council remains committed to sustaining and enhancing efforts to improve the quality of life of all residents in the county. I also warmly welcome the “Plain and Simple Style Writing Guide”, developed by the Social Inclusion Unit, aimed at improving how we communicate with our customers.
