Therefore, an early application is recommended. Description/content During two semesters, the participants will be prepared for their degree programme linguistically and in terms of subject-related content. The course curriculum comprises approx. 24 teaching hours per week. The main focus lies on acquiring an officially recognised German language certificate that is accepted in order to enrol in the respective degree programme. In addition, core courses of the participating degree programmes are attended and reviewed in tutorials. Another focus lies on introducing participants to teaching and learning methods in higher education in Germany (e.g., preparing presentations using modern media, practising taking notes in lectures, analysing and producing academic texts, training to work independently in study groups, etc.). Moreover, the students are familiarised with the structures of the university (e.g. they will practise using the university's online portals). In cooperation with the employers and business association of the region, the participants will also be supported in their search for a placement in order to be able to complete their pre-study internships. Furthermore, intercultural training and support given through the buddy programme will help the students to settle in Germany and will facilitate their integration at the Jade University. It is for students who meet the German university entrance degree standards, but who do not yet have the necessary level of proficiency in the German language. programmes/guaranteed admission If a place at the Jade Kolleg is offered to an applicant and he or she accepts it, the applicant will be enrolled directly in the chosen degree programme. The enrolment is limited to two semesters, at first until the end of the study preparation course. After successful completion of the study preparation programme, the participant must submit an officially recognised German language proficiency certificate to the Enrolment Office by the enrolment deadline and re-register for the following semester. The limited enrolment is then revoked and the student continues to study in his or her degree programme as a regular student. Integrated internships Some of the participating degree programmes require a pre-study internship. Within the framework of the study preparation programme, the participants will be supported in their search for a placement in order to be able to complete their pre-study internships.
