The 33KV feeder from Elelewno substation which supplies the area was analysed using Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) method. The method was used in Electrical Transient Analyzer Programme (ETAP). It was observed that load flow analysis is vital in understanding the ape rational nature of the network, by considering the following; Capacitive power, power before compensation, power after compensation, current before and after compensation, voltage drop, reactive current, supply current after compensation, losses in the distribution system and the ratio of loss without and with compensation. From the simulation there was low voltage profile and overloading of transformer along the distribution network. The voltage profile was improved by upgrading the network to standard power factor. Improvement of Power Supply at Igbo-Etche Rumoukwurusi Area of Port Harcourt, Rivers State using Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) Method Igbinake Osakpamwan α, Sepiribo Lucky Braide σ & Dikio Idoniboyeobu ρ Abstract- This project work examined power supply at Igbo- intermittent supply which in turns brings about rise in Etche Rumoukwurusi Area of Port Harcourt with the aim of cost of production (Ewald &Mohammad, 2008). 2020 improving power supply. The 33KV feeder from Elelewno Electrical Power Quality is the degree of any substation which supplies the area was analysed using Year deviation from the nominal values of the voltage Dynamic Voltage Restorer (DVR) method. The method was magnitude and frequency. Power Quality problems 19 used in Electrical Transient Analyzer Programme (ETAP). It was observed that load flow analysis is vital in understanding concerning frequency deviation and voltage magnitude the ape rational nature of the network, by considering the deviation is as a result of the presence of harmonics and following; Capacitive power, power before compensation, voltage fluctuations. Other voltage problems are the power after compensation, current before and after voltage sags, short interruptions and transient over compensation, voltage drop, reactive current, supply current voltages. The power quality issues such as voltage after compensation, losses in the distribution system and the ue V Version I sags, swells, harmonics, transients and their mitigation s ratio of loss without and with compensation. From the techniques that are suitable for different types of voltage simulation there was low voltage profile and overloading of sags, filter deign for reducing harmonic distortion and transformer along the distribution network. The voltage profile surge arrester sizing for location of transients was improved by upgrading the network to standard power factor. (Madrigal&Acha,2000). In most of the cases, Volume XX Is control of the power quality refers to the control of the harcourt. F voltage only. This is because in most cases voltage can () I. Introduction be controlled more easily than current. More specifically, the quality of power can be described by some a) Background of the Study parameters such as continuity of service, variation in he problem of electricity supply in Nigeria by the voltage magnitude, transient voltages and currents, Nigerian power sector is as a result of its inability harmonic content (for AC) etc..To describe the to provide adequate electricity supply to domestic T importance of power quality issues, we can say that household and industrial producers despite a rapidly poor power quality leads to unnecessary wastage of growing economy, irrespective of the country’s large power and economy.
