Community Christian School Tuesday Memo December 3, 2019 CRUSADERS BASKETBALL: Good luck to the Crusaders boys and girls basketball teams this week as they face Boone Trinity on Thursday at CCS starting at 4 pm. Come cheer them on!! CCS CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: Community Christian School will present “Child of Promise”, a mini-cantata, on Thursday, December 12th at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. in the school Chapel. Kindergarten through 8th grade students will perform the 30 minute program of nine beautiful songs that anticipate the birth of Christ, welcome the Christ child and praise the newborn Savior. There will also be student instrumental performances prior to the cantata. CCS PTF/BOOSTER ANNOUCEMENTS: Rescheduled Paper Product Pass Event: Be a real MVP in our “Paper Product Pass“ event at the Boys/Girls Crusaders Basketball game THIS Thursday 12/5 at 4:00pm. We will be collecting paper bowls, cups, and plates to stock the CCS kitchen for 2020! Be a team player and come cheer on the Crusaders AND bring a paper product of your choosing to “pass” into the donation container. Go Crusaders Go! CCS Christmas Tree: Booster Club Christmas Tree is now up in the office. Stop by and grab a tag off the tree to bless a teacher/students with a gift for their classroom. Please return gifts with the tag attached to the office tree by 12/20. Booster Club Opportunity: The Booster Club is looking for a handful of parent volunteers to serve during the morning gym time from 7:40-8:00 a.m. while students arrive for school, during the week of 12/16-12/20. If you can volunteer for 20 minutes AND bless the teachers of CCS with this gift, please contact the office, or Bethany Heath ASAP. Last day to submit clipped Box Tops: Final counting for daycare – 8th competition. TUITION DUE: Reminder, December tuition is due on Tuesday, December 10th. 3rd ANNUAL HOLIDAY CRAFT FAIR AT CCS: The 3rd Annual Holiday Craft & Vendor show will be held next Saturday, December 14th from 10 am-4 pm in the CCS gym. Vendor fee is $40 for a 10 x 8 space, table & 2 chairs. All vendor fees will go directly to CCS. Contact Kathy Dencklau at 515-227-8801 for more information or to register today! CHRISTMAS SHOP - ORGANIZED BY THE 5TH/6TH GRADE CLASSROOM ECONOMY STUDENTS: The 5th/6th Grade Classroom Economy Class is proud to offer the CCS Christmas Shop again. The “CCS Christmas Shop” is to provide our CCS families & the community with a place where they can buy Christmas items and books that celebrate the birth of Jesus. Our Christmas Shop will be offering books, posters, calendars and gift items for all ages, celebrating the birth of Jesus. We invite everyone to come shop at our Christmas Shop, before & after the Christmas Program. CINNAMON ROLLS: Support our Food Service Department and enjoy sweet treats too! Order forms and payment must be returned to the office by Friday, December 6th. Rolls will be sent home with students Thursday, December 12th. $7.00 per ½ dozen, $14.00 per dozen. Make checks payable to CCS. (Order forms available in the office or by the daycare check in) CCS CHRISTMAS TAGS for SALVATION ARMY (sponsored by 7th/8th grade): CCS is partnering with the Salvation Army to bring Christmas presents to children in the community. If you would like to bring Christmas cheer to a child who might not otherwise receive any gifts, please take one of the tags from UNDERNEATH the CCS office Christmas tree starting tomorrow. Items need to be returned to school by Thursday, December 12th – UNWRAPPED and marked for the Salvation Army. SCHOOL CLOSINGS: With snowy days already starting, please be aware that school delays or cancellations will announced via text through our REMIND system, then be announced on WHO, KCCI, WOI, KJYL, KIAQ, KWMT, KICB, KVFD, KTLB, KXFT, KZLB & Facebook. We follow the Fort Dodge public & parochial school system in snow/ice delays, early outs and school cancellations. If school is delayed, 3yr old morning preschool will be cancelled. If an early dismissal is called, there will be no 4 yr old afternoon preschool. Unless otherwise notified, CCS daycare will be open if staff is able to safely reach work. Everyone is invited. Please set aside a little time (about 30 minutes) to attend this performance.
