FIRE: Fairness, Integrity, Respect, Excellence THE POSITION The STC Urban AHS Program Assistant/Bus Driver Position has three functions: Working alongside the Teacher in offering a play based program; cleaning and preparing the classrooms for daily activities, and developing new materials, including documentation; Assisting the Home Visitor in offering a parent support program, and preparing home visiting materials. Transporting children to and from the program and to other activities. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Position is 7.5 hours a day, Monday to Friday, August 19th, 2020 to June 30th, 2021; Some evening work required for cultural and family events; Position is supervised by STC Early Childhood Program Coordinator; Orientation will be provided for classroom and home visiting work; Will be required to drive either a 14 passenger school bus or a 15 passenger van to pick-up and drop off children; Follow all STC Policies and Procedures, and ensure all Accreditation Standards are met. QUALIFICATIONS 1. ECE Diploma required, ECE Certificate will be considered; 2. Safe Food Handling certification; First Aid, CPR and WHIMIS certification; 3. Valid Saskatchewan Driver’s License Class 4, “S” Endorsement, experience driving a school bus, and meets STC’s insurance requirements; Valid Class 5 and able to immediately complete Class 4, “S” Endorsement requirements will be considered; 4. Minimum of one year related experience in working with young children; 5. Good written and interpersonal communication skills; 6. Experience working with vulnerable populations; 7. Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team; 8. Demonstrated organizational and time management skills, good problem solver; 9. Dependable and reliable; have good work ethics; 10. Willing to take additional training in early childhood development; 11. Understanding of aboriginal cultures; knowledge of an aboriginal language would be an asset; 12.
