The committee is requested to look in to every aspect which includes academic activities undertaken in the College, as well as all extra-curricular and co-curricular activities that shape the personality of students. The Report provides us a plan to determine regular outline of the College’s Teaching Learning methods. This process enables the College to improve the quality of teaching and learning process/ practices. The various committees and associations are formed for smooth development of each and every aspect of education in an academic calendar year. The committee and associations are allocated specific work and are required to carry out preplanned Programmes. This schedule facilitates to plan actions and Programmes. A glimpse at the index illustrates the nature and scope of academic activities conducted in the college. The academic audit panel enables the college to evaluate the activities and Programmes whether they are being carried out as planned, and whether the activities and Programmes of the college are efficiently and effectively serve the purpose of the college administration. We have made every attempt to see that the requirements of various stakeholders such as students, alumni, parents, statutory, employees/ employers, society and the management are satisfied. The teaching and non- teaching staff make every effort to fulfill aspirations of students. I am confident that the exercise of academic audit will give precious suggestion and guidance to the college through the panel of various experts. However, English translations of the Aims & Objectives of the Trust are as under: a) To establish and provide primary, secondary and higher education facilities as well as technical and agricultural education and to carry out Research in all cadres of education as well as to uplift the common man so that he would be able to take technical education. b) To establish Arts, Science, Commerce, Technical c) Medical, Agriculture and Technical Educations by establishing schools and colleges, Gymnasiums and provide residential accommodation or to start any other institute. d) To help in establishing Institutes on the terms and conditions of others and bring close accommodation, amongst the Institutes. e) To start various courses to give practical training and issue certificates accordingly. f) To encourage and start Institution in providing Agriculture Industries and to enable the students to earn income there from. g) In general to start building of nation by providing various types of educational activities in terms of the basic fabrics of the constitution of the institute. 2.1 The Trust is registered with the Charity Commissioner, Mumbai under No. F-88 of 1953. The Trust is also registered with the Commissioner of Income Tax, (DI Exempt) Mumbai, and is assessed by the I.T.O. Exemption No. 2(4), MUMBAI. 2.2 The PAN & TAN of the Trust are as under; PAN : AAATV6431C TAN : MUMV09025C 2.3 The donations to the Institute are also entitled to deduction u/s 80G of the Income Tax Act 1961 since the Institute is having a certificate u/s 80G dated 11.06.2007 issued by the Commissioner of Income Tax (Exemption) Mumbai. This Manual For Academic Audit Report for Academic Years 2014-15 to 2017-18 Page 5 Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College of Arts & Commerce, Academic Audit Report-2014-15 to 2017-18 certificate dated 11.06.2007 is for the period 01.04.2007 to 31.03.2010. In view of the Circular No. 7/2010 dated 25.10.2010 issued by the CBDT, the aforesaid certificate is in vogue even after 31.03.2010. 3.1. In the Year 1951, the Trust established a Marathi Medium Secondary High School at Mahim Mumbai, by admitting students to Std. VIII, to XI Classes. On 09.07.1968, the Trust took over the Management of Orient secondary High School situate at Taikalwadi, Mahim, Mumbai – 400 016, from its proprietor, late Shri. Juvale for a consideration of Rs. 75,000/-. In the year 1976-77 the secondary curriculum was changed. The Secondary schools were restricted to Std. V to X only. In view of this change the Mahim School, catered to students from VIII to Xth std. only. With the advent of English Medium schools, the number of divisions of each standard from 21 started dwindling from 1990 onwards. Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College of Arts & Commerce: Considering increase in demand for Sr. Colleges from the local residents of Mamdapur and Neral, in 2004, the Trust initiated the process to start Arts and Commerce Degree College at Mamdapur, Neral in the premises of the school building, which was named as Dadasaheb Phadtare and Nadkarni Aaji Vidya Sankul. The Government of Maharashtra, in 2008, approved the recommendation of Mumbai University to permit the Trust to start the Arts and Commerce College. Philanthropist Shri. Jayantrao Tipnis, renowned Architect of Mumbai, donated a sum of Rs. 21,00,000/- to the Vidya Mandir Mandal Trust to propagate the memory of his late mother Mrs. Sumati Chintamani Tipnis, by naming the College of Arts and Commerce College as Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College of Arts and Commerce. Thus, in 2008, the Trust started Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College of Arts and Commerce with 52 students at Mamdapur, Neral. Today, there are over 660 students in our College. Today, the Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College has started various computer courses such as Tally, Hardware Networking, DTP etc. not only for the students of Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College but also for students living in the vicinity areas of Neral and Karjat, Dist. Raigad, Maharashtra. In view of increase in the number of Students of Arts and Commerce College, the Trust decided to have a separate independent building only for Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College of Arts and Commerce in the Manual For Academic Audit Report for Academic Years 2014-15 to 2017-18 Page 6 Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College of Arts & Commerce, Academic Audit Report-2014-15 to 2017-18 precincts of Dadasaheb Phadtare and Nadkarni Aaji Vidya Sankul. The Trust proposed to construct a four storey structure which would provide 12 classrooms for accommodating 120 students in each class room, Principal Room, Teachers Room, Library, Computer labs, Ladies Common Room etc. at a cost of Rs.7 Crores. MISSION To provide not only education but also awareness for importance of education and guidance on ‘Personality Development’ for students from rural area. VISION To introduce and develop Higher Education in Raigad District for providing quality education and for setting good standards with the help of an excellent, qualified and experienced faculty. OBJECTIVES: To provide education to rural, tribal area and lower income group students. To prepare modern, progressive, dynamic and high thinking students. To offer valuable higher education. To develop personality of students through extra- curricular activities, sports and National Service Scheme (N.S.S.) To encourage socially and economically backward students. To educate all students with the help of qualified teachers. To provide good infrastructure to all students. To provide incentives in the form of scholarships to the poor, deserving sincere and scholar students. Policy regarding Quality Vidya Mandir Mandal Trust and Matoshree Sumati Chintamani Tipnis College of Arts & Commerce, Neral are dedicated for the upgrading the educational qualities of students. We educate them through the formal education to mould them to be efficient at every level of life.
