FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE November 6, 2014 Blood & Thunder Roller Derby World Cup Comes to Dallas December 4-7, 2014 DALLAS, TEXAS – Blood & Thunder Roller Derby World Cup is proud to announce the second international Roller Derby World Cup tournament to be held December 4th through 7th in Dallas, Texas. All scheduled games will be held at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Dallas Convention Center in Downtown Dallas. Thirty countries are expected to compete in this 4-day event taking place in the 100,000 sq ft Exhibit Hall A, as well as the final Sunday playoff games in the Arena at the Dallas Convention Center. Blood & Thunder Roller Derby World Cup gathers 30 adult teams from around the world. Countries competing include Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Mexico, The Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Scotland, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Wales, West Indies and the USA. Team information such as contact, rosters, fundraising efforts, and more can be found online via the Roller Derby World Cup Facebook page and RollerDerbyWorldCup.com. The structure for the tournament bracket was developed by the Women’s Flat Track Derby Association. Teams will play other competing countries in their bracket in 40-minute games starting at 9am Thursday, December 4th. Teams will advance to full 60-minute bouts starting Friday, December 5th and continuing through Saturday, December 6th. The final teams will advance to the semi-finals and championship games Sunday, December 7th . Four-day passes to the event are on sale now and will also be available at the door. Sunday-only playoff passes are also available now. Daily event tickets will be available at the door. The entire event, including exhibition bouts featuring skaters from the Junior Roller Derby Association and Vagine Regime, will be broadcast live at RollerDerbyWorldCup.com.
