VICTORIA REGINJE. No. DCCLXXXIV. An Act to authorize the Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Company Limited to construct Tramway Branches in the Cities of Fitzroy Collingwood Richmond and South Melbourne and the Boroughs of St. Kilda Kew and Hawthorn and for other purposes. [3rd November 1883.] HEREAS the making of the Tra in ways hereinafter particularly Preamble, w described with their appurtenances and other works connected therewith would be of great public and local advantage: And whereas the Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Company Limited is a Company duly incorporated under and in conformity with the provisions of " The Companies Statute 1864?7: And whereas the said Company is willing and it is expedient that it should be authorised to construct the said Tramways appurtenances and other works: Be it therefore enacted by the Queen's Most Excellent Majesty by and with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council and Legislative Assembly of Victoria in this present Parliament assembled and by the authority of the same as follows (that is to say) : — 1. This Act shall be called and may be cited as " The Melbourne short title. Tramway and Omnibus Company's Branches Act 1883." 2. Subject to the provisions of this Act the Melhourne Tramway Subject to Act and Omnibus Company Limited may construct and maintain all or any No-765- of the Tramway branches mentioned in Schedule One of this Act, and this Act shall lie read and construed for all purposes except as herein otherwise provided as part of Act DCCLXV. being " The Melhourne Tram/way and Omnibus Company's Act 1883." THE FIRST SCHEDULE. Branches all in the County of Bourke: Fitzroy Branch. Fitzroy Branch.—A branch of the length of two furlongs and six chains com­ mencing at the intersection of St. Georgo's-road and Scotchmer-strect proceeding thence along St. Georgo's-road terminating in St. George's-road at the inter­ section of Barkly-strcet in the City of Fitzroy and Parish of Jika Jika. Kew Branch. Kew Branch.—A branch of tlie length of one mile five furlongs eight chains and seventy-five links commencing in Victoria-street at the new Kew Bridge pro­ ceeding thence along the said bridge and its approaches Barker's-road and Bulleen-road terminaling in the Bulleen-road at or near the entrance of the Boroondara General Cemetery in the Cities of Richmond and Collingwood and the Boroughs of Hawthorn and Kew and the Parishes of North Melbourne Jika Jika and Boroondara or any of them. Hawthorn Branch. Hawthorn Branch.—A branch of the length of one mile and live furlongs com­ mencing in Campbell Parade at the Hawthorn Bridge proceeding thence along the said bridge and its approaches the Burwood-road Power-street south and the Riversdale-road terminating in the Rivorsdale-road at the intersection of Glenferrie-road in the City of Richmond and Borough of Hawthorn and Parishes of Jika Jika and Boroondara or one of them. St. Kilda Branch.-—A branch of the length of three furlongs and two chains com­ mencing in the Esplanade at the intersection of Robe-street proceeding thence along the Esplanade and Aclnnd-street terminating in Acland-street at the intersection of Barkly-street in the Borough of St. Kilda and Parish of Prahran. St. Kilda Branch. St. Kilda Branch.—A branch of tlie length of two furlongs nine chains seventy links commencing at the intersection of High-street and Carlisle-street proceeding thence along the Brighton-road terminating in the Brighton-road at or near the intersection of Grosvcnor-street in the Borough of St. Kilda and Parish of Prahran. South Melbourne South Melbourne Branch.—A branch of the length of one mile two furlongs and Branch. four chains commencing in Kerferd-road at the intersection of Herbert-street proceeding thence along Kerferd-road Beacon sfield-parade Gatehouse-street and Bridport-street terminating at the intersection of Bridport-street and Montague- street in the City of South Melbourne and Parish of South Melbourne. Fare not exceeding 3d. for any single journey on the Kew branch or on the Hawthorn branch the other branches to be added to the lines in the Melbourne Tramway and Omnibus Company's Act 1883 No. DCCLXV. without any increase of the fare provided in the Third Schedule of that Act.
