A model of the engaged artist—defending the rights of Jews against Nazi Thursday, February 9, 2012 aggression and American apathy—Szyk became Hillel at UCLA America’s leading political caricaturist of the 1940s and his work appeared in TIME, Esquire and Collier’s 4PM • Welcoming Remarks magazines, among many others. The exhibit features Todd Presner many of the pieces that made him famous.
