EFG International continues its development in Asia Zurich, 21 January 2009 – EFG International completes move to new premises in Hong Kong and launches Chinese name EFG International’s business in Hong Kong, EFG Bank, has completed its relocation to new premises located on the 18th Floor of the International Commerce Centre, 1 Austin Road West, Kowloon. This move provides the necessary space to accommodate the enlarged business, along with sufficient capacity for anticipated dynamic expansion over the next few years. EFG International’s Asian business in general - and Hong Kong business in particular – continues to grow rapidly. In the first six months of 2008, the Asian business saw clients’ Assets under Management grow by over 20%. In relation to recruitment of Client Relationship Officers (CROs), 2008 was a record year. In Hong Kong, the number of CROs increased by close to 40%, drawn from a wide range of organisations including UBS, Citi, ABN AMRO, HSBC, DBS and Fortis. Furthermore, the CRO pipeline is extremely strong, which bodes well for the current year. In another development, EFG Bank is in the process of introducing its new Chinese name to the region, 瑞士盈豐銀行. In addition to Hong Kong, EFG International’s Asian business now operates in Singapore, Bangkok, Jakarta, Manila and Taipei.
