With 2018 being the 150th anniversary of Mackintosh’s birth, the milliner felt it was the perfect opportunity to pay homage to his fellow citizen. The designers share a love of geometry, lines and florals, and these can be seen throughout the collection. Mackintosh’s famous pink rose motif can be seen reincarnated in felt and silk trims, his line drawings interpreted as swirling crin headbands and his chair backs re-appropriated as avant-garde headpieces. Alongside these couture pieces Chambers most popular and celebrated styles are refreshed with new colourways and textures inspired by Mackintosh. All pieces in the AW18 collection were produced in William Chambers’ studio in Glasgow.
