Murray State University Racer Day – Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2011 – Noon to 5:00pm - You will receive financial aid and scholarship information; explore academic interests, and tour campus. For more information, Visit their website at www.murraystate.edu/racerdays. Harris-Stowe State University will be having “A View of HSSU on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 11:30am. This is an opportunity for prospective students to learn more about the academic programs, athletics, student life, residential life, and financial assistance. Students will have the opportunity to tour the campus, meet with faculty and staff, and attend a Hornet’s soccer game. RSVP online at www.hssu.edu/admissions by October 20, 2011. University of Missouri – St. Louis UMSL Day November 12, 2011 Tour the campus – Meet with professors/students – Get admission & financial aid information – Students who register in advance will be entered to win an iPad – Students can register at umslday.com Linn State Students are invited to attend Must See LSTC in Linn, Missouri on Saturday, October 29 and must See LSTC at the Advanced Technology Center in Mexico, Missouri on Friday, November 4! Must See LSTC in Linn, Missouri on Saturday, October 29 is a Program Preview day in which all of Linn State’s programs (over 35) will be showcased. Your students will have the opportunity to tour the facilities and see first-hand the quality of our programs, instructors and equipment. COMPASS testing will also be offered on this date. Students must sign up in advance to take the test. Must See LSTC at the Advanced Technology Center in Mexico, Missouri on Friday, November 4 is a Program Preview day in which Linn State’s programs housed in Mexico, Missouri will be showcased. Your students will have the opportunity to tour the facility and see first-hand the quality of our Automation & Robotics Technology and Nuclear Technology programs, instructors and equipment. At both Must See LSTC events, your students will have an opportunity to receive scholarship and financial aid information. Scholarships Do you have a particular college or university that you are interested in? Many schools offer scholarships just for their school. Check out some of the websites/information below if you see a school of particular interest to you. University of Central MO www.umco.edu/scholarships University of Central MO Athletic Training Education Program The Athletic Training Education Program at the UCM is dedicated to providing the highest quality of professional preparation to develop future athletic trainers. There are many scholarships available to you as an athletic training student. The Dr. Ronald VanDam Student Athletic Training Scholarship is specifically awarded to athletic training students. Brown Mackie College – St. Louis - Brown Macke College offers scholarship opportunities for students looking for post secondary education in the fields of business, health care, legal studies, and technology. President’s Scholarship for this school is available in the guidance office. The University of Kansas offers outstanding academic programs and millions of dollars in renewable scholarships and grants to students each year. You need to apply for admission by Nov. 1st. A complete application for admission serves as your application for scholarships, too. admissions.ku.edu/apply Missouri State University offers several scholarships. Multicultural Leadership Scholarship, these scholarships is valid for four years. There is not a minimum ACT requirement however students must rank in the top 50% of their class and have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Hutchens Leadership Scholarship Application; students must have a minimum score of 20 on the ACT, be in the top 50% of their class, and have at least a 3.0 GPA. Scholarships – General scholarships will now be listed on their own attachment. Be sure to check them out. ACT TEST / SAT TEST Students are being strongly encouraged to enroll online this year. We do have a few packets, just not as many as in the past. If you sign up on line, write down your user ID and password. You will need it each time you log into the ACT website. ACT – www.actstudent.org SAT – www.collegeboard.com If you want to mail your registration, if you bring it to the guidance office, with your payment enclosed, at least two days before the registration deadline, we will mail the packet for you. Students who are on our free/reduced lunch form our entitled to two waivers to be used to pay for the registration fee. If you signed up to take the October ACT, the test is this Saturday. The test starts at 8:00am. Be on time! Bring your admission ticket and photo ID. Get a good nights rest. Good Luck!
