AKROSPHERE AERIAL & CIRCUS ARTS STUDIO POLICIES TUITION AND PAYMENT POLICIES RATES Summer Session: Tuition for one 1-hour class per week is a one-time payment for all of June AND July for all classes (excluding Tumbling, Circus Kids and Akronauts); these monthly tuitions include the 1-hour class each week PLUS unlimited coach supervised Open Gym for June and July. This means the students can have many more hours of apparatus time per week if they choose. Please note we DO NOT have classes the week of July 4th, so our Akro-Families can celebrate Independence Day with their loved ones. School Year Session: Tuition is paid monthly for one 1-hour class per week for all classes; these monthly tuitions include the 1-hour class each week PLUS unlimited coach supervised Open Gym for the entire month. This means the students can have many more hours of apparatus time per week if they choose. Circus Kids, Akronauts, and TeeterTots enjoy a discounted tuition fee in lieu of participating in open gym. Please note: Due to changes in our circus insurance policy, we are no longer able to offer our $10 discount for multi-class / multi-sibling. Thank you for your understanding. Tuition is the same each month and is not adjusted because of holidays or unattended lessons: we base School Year Session tuition fees per student / family on a "34 weeks of class / ten month season" which we then divide into equal monthly payments August - May. This allows for some months to have 5 weeks, and some months to have 3. This is non-negotiable. All tuition and registration fees are non-refundable. We do offer a 14-Day / 2 Class Money Back Guarantee; see policy below. PAYMENT We currently accept payment via credit card through our online registration system. Summer Session: We process all credit cards for all summer programs (classes, camps, workshops, etc) on the 1st of June. If registering for summer classes or camps after this date, your card will be processed within a few days of registration. Summer tuitions will also include a $15 registration / equipment upkeep fee School Year Session: We automatically process all credit cards on the 1st of every month. August tuitions (or the first month's tuition payment if registering after August 1st) will also include a $40 registration / equipment upkeep fee. Tuition bills will not be sent out monthly. Students may not skip a month and return to class without paying for the month missed. Akrosphere reserves the right to have students sit out of classes and / or participation in performances for delinquent accounts, until such account is paid in full. MONEY BACK GUARANTEE We personally guarantee that your child will LOVE our circus classes. If after your first class your child is not happy, we will work with you to see if any changes in class need to be made for your child. If after your second class you find Akrosphere is not the right fit for your child, we will refund you the cost for any remaining unattended classes. (For purposes of this Money Back Guarantee, we will assume one month’s tuition covers four classes.) Registration / Equipment Upkeep fees are not refunded. All you need to do is email [email protected] prior to your two weeks ending. No cancellations may be accepted through the teacher; all notices must be in writing via email through our administrative office. Your money will be refunded directly to your credit card on file. Money Back Guarantee is valid for the time period of 14 days from first class attended (INCLUDING Trial Classes), and is valid for a total of two classes. Only new, registered students are eligible for our money-back guarantee. Our money-back guarantee only applies to weekly classes, and does not apply to intensives, workshops, or camps. Our money-back guarantee only applies to students withdrawing from Akrosphere within the 14-day time period, and does not apply to missed classes. Money Back Guarantee is only valid once per family. TRIAL CLASSES Akrosphere offers each prospective student a $10 trial class in the apparatus of their choice. If you are interested in setting up a trial class, email us at [email protected] and we will arrange a date and time. If you end up joining our AKRO-Family, we will deduct the $10 from your first month's tuition. Trial classes count toward your Money Back Guarantee limit of two classes. DROPPING A CLASS Upon registration, students and their families agree that a 60 day minimum time period must elapse before they may give notice to drop from a class. Due to this, no drops may occur during the Summer Session. Also due to preparing for the end of year showcase, no drops may be scheduled after March 1st. School Year Session: To drop from a class, we require a minimum of 30 days written notice to the Akrosphere studio (simply email [email protected]), so that we can open the class slot to a child on our waiting list. This 30-day notice is required to change your schedule, and tuition charges will continue to incur until notice is given. Teachers may not accept drop notices in class. We limit our class sizes for safety reasons, and due to this, we have a rather strict class drop policy. Again please note, we require a MINIMUM of 30 days notice. For example, say a student gives notice on November 3rd. December 1st falls within that 30 day period; as a result, their account WILL be billed fully for December. That being said, since December will be fully paid for, the student would be welcome to attend that class until the end of December. Students are considered absent unless we receive written notice. This 30-day notice is required to change your schedule, and tuition charges will continue to incur until notice is given. REGISTRATION / EQUIPMENT UPKEEP FEE - $40 each student upon registration (non-refundable) for School Year Session. - $15 each student upon registration (non-refundable) for Summer Session. LATE FEE We charge a $25 late fee on all accounts in arrears for ten days or more. Students with unpaid bills are not allowed to register or continue with classes until arrangements are made. INJURY POLICY AFFECTING CLASS PARTICIPATION When injuries occur, a doctors note MUST be shown to all teachers providing details of injury, and how long the student is to remain off of injury. Parents, please remember that unless you have a medical background or degree, your opinions on how long your child should or should not be out for an injury may be overlooked until we receive an actual note from the child's doctor. Should a student become injured in or out of the studio and unable to participate in their weekly class, and upon the receipt of a doctor’s note, we will happily place their account on hold until they are able to once again participate. This account credit must be activated within 60 days of injury. If the injury requires a longer recovery time, simply email us at [email protected] discuss options going forward. When injuries occur, please be advised that your child SHOULD still attend class to watch, depending on how severe the injury is. Students learn almost as much by watching as by doing, so please do not miss the opportunity for your child to increase their knowledge. Observing class and taking notes is a wonderful way to drastically shorten the “catch-up time” after an injury has healed. CLASS POLICIES DRESS CODE We have a specific dress code, beginning August 2019. For our dress code lists and ordering info, simply CLICK HERE and choose the appropriate class name from the drop down menu. Please order directly from that website. (For Boys in Cyr Wheel classes only: they may wear fitted black sweatpants instead of the required leggings; no baggy sweatpants or shorts are allowed.). Akrosphere’s Studio ID is 120512. Please pay attention to the colors specified in the Dress Code Notes on the page. Thank you. Please note that we have a specific dress code in effect for safety reasons, and to remain compliant with our circus insurance company, who have good reason to require what they require. All items in our dress code are made from fabrics that do not slip on the apparatuses, are non-see through, allow our coaches to see body lines and technique, and fully cover and protect the areas that need protecting. Birthday parties, Trial Classes, and SUMMER CAMPS: Students should wear a leotard that fully covers their back, and leggings that reach their ankles. Students may wear a form- fitting shirt / tank top if they do not own a leotard. All shirts must be tucked in. When a student comes without appropriate clothing, the student will be asked to sit out and watch. In addition: - Remove all jewelry. If a piercing cannot be removed, tape it appropriately during the class. Small earrings are fine. - No Zippers or Buttons or Velcro (these tear the equipment.) - No long nails are allowed on any aerial equipment. It is a safety issue, plus damage to aerial equipment may occur. - Please wear appropriate clothing to and from the studio. This means shoes, jackets / sweatshirts over leotards in the colder months, cover-ups in the warmer months, etc. Muscles don’t like to get all warm and then all of a sudden be exposed to cold temperatures. Also, even though you may feel super warm after class, it is unhealthy to go outside in a leotard top only in colder weather.
