With our Mediterranean style climate, we have over 200 Cafés, Tearooms and Restaurants for you to choose from and many are listed in this FREE English Riviera Cafés, Tearooms and Restaurants Guide. Many are award winning places to eat and we are very lucky to have so many talented local chefs. We have arranged the new Guide by location (Babbacombe, Torquay, Cockington, Paignton, Brixham) as well as by services offered, shown as icons to help you find your own preferences quickly. Our Restaurants, Cafés, Tearooms, Pubs and Bars are also listed on the English Riviera web site. Locally at Brixham Fish Market we land over 40 varieties of world class fresh fish and seafood and if you are looking for something different to do you can book an early morning tour on selected dates to see the live auction. Once a year we stage an annual Seafood FEAST which offers an inspiring programme of special menus and foodie events organised by local chefs in their own kitchens. At 300ft above sea level, this delightful village boasts the highest cliff top promenade in England known as the Downs with spectacular, unrivalled views across the bay and towards Portland Bill Lighthouse in Dorset. The prominent red cliffs are of international geological significance and form part of the English Riviera UNESCO Global Geopark. Walkers can enjoy following the South West Coast Path which winds its way through Babbacombe taking in hidden coves, woodland areas and pleasant coastal walks along the route. There’s plenty for all the family to enjoy with a fun ride on the charming, Victorian Babbacombe Cliff Railway; the Blue Flag awarded Oddicombe beach; a show at Babbacombe Theatre or the miniature world of adventure at the award-winning attraction, Babbacombe Model Village. On the Downs there are lovely, well tendered lawns and attractive flower displays with plenty of seats and shelters to take in the delightfully mild. English Riviera micro-climate and a viewing platform with a static cliff top telescope to capture the picturesque views. With a wide choice of independent cafés, quaint tea rooms and takeaways there’s somewhere to suit every taste and occasion. A trip to South Devon isn’t complete without sampling a famous Devon Cream Tea.
