All Saints Byzantine Catholic Church Fasting and Abstinence for the Great Fast Wednesday and Friday: Simple Abstinence from all Meat Products. Helpful Suggestions for the Week Prayer: Spend some time reading, reflecting and praying with one Psalm each day. This week, one could focus on the Psalms 120-126. Fasting: Let us cast out and fast from all the negativity in our lives. Seek to find the courage to see the blessings in which we have received each day rather than what we have not received. Almsgiving: Look over your home and see if there is a pair of shoes, or an outfit that can be donated. You never know what your small gift can do. Please Note: All the faithful, regardless of age, who are participating in the Divine Liturgy either virtually or physically are to follow the abstinence regulations of the Great Fast.
