Our Companies are committed to promote good health, safe working conditions and good environmental practices, in accordance with the occupational Health and Safety Management system. 6 HSE Policy Statement HSE is Our Company’s policy to conduct its business, provide services, to construct and maintain facilities in the safest possible manner consistent with applicable policy, procedures or practices and promote through an effective injury and illness prevention program, a safe healthful and secure work environment for employees and visitors including persons disabilities that is free from violence threats and intimidation and protect the public from harm in connection with its operations. Our Company’s takes its social responsibilities seriously and also realizes that the continuing good name of the company is dependent on other people’s perception of its public image, 7 therefore the safeguard of the general public in areas were access may be possible or desirable is of great importance. Line with Our Company’s commitment to implement and maintain safety of its employees and general public, this safety plans aims to provide guidelines for all employees on safe working under different conditions and situations. HSE Objectives 8 Safety Organization Chart 9 HSE Policy 10 Guidelines & Practices to Ensure HSE Policy & Work Project Manager The project manager will have the overall responsibility in the project in the project approving the safety program, Ensuring that all aspects of the program are implemented and adhered to. He will ensure that all reasonably practicable measures are taken to protect and promote the health, safety, welfare of the work force and to protect the environment. Further duties are to ensure that: 1. All reports regarding HSE are recorded, filed, and kept for audit. 2. Any accident, incident or near miss reports are recorded, filed and reported to the consultant and Client. 3. Any accident, incident or near miss is investigated with a view to negating or minimizing the chance of a recurrence. 4. Any additional and reasonably practical safety measures imposed by Client or contained within the Clients HSE safety plan are implemented and adhered to. 5. Where applicable all works are carried out have been subject to a risk assessment and that all identity hazard are analyses and quantified. 6. Emergency evacuation procedures and plans are in place, all project based personal are aware of and receive induction of 11 these procedure and plans, and practical mock drills are carried out to ensure emergency preparedness. 7. All project-based personnel are equipped with appropriate PPE relevant to the hazards related to carried out and associated work activities. HSE Engineer He will oversee the safety requirements of the project and ensure that all activities are being carried out in such a manner as to ensure the health and safety of all the workforce. The Safety Officer will ensure that all items of lifting equipment on site are tested, examined, inspected and certified in accordance with agreed standards and will not permit the use of any items that do not meet the required standards to be used on any lifting activity. Further duties are to ensure that: 1. Conduct safety induction session for all levels of staff and supervise toolbox talks regarding general hazards on site. 2. Promote safety awareness to the entire project workforce. 3. Ensure that all vehicles and trailers for transportation of materials and associated equipment are certified as serviceable, in a good taste of repair and meet all contact and local standards and laws. 4. Ensure that material safety data sheets (MSDS) are available for any hazardous substances used on the project. 12 5. Ensure that any reported hazards are fully investigated using a risk assessment methodology and a valued judgment made as to the best and most reasonably practicable method of protecting the personnel from injury and the equipment from damage due to hazards using both engineering and administrative control measures. 6. Ensure that all PPE issued to the workforce personnel is appropriated to the hazards related to the task and the environment. 7. Ensure that all personnel are aware of their duties regarding safety. 8. Assist the relevant supervisor to investigate any accident or near miss does not reoccur. 9. Advise on methods to eliminate, minimize, reduce or protect against any perceivable hazards that are reported or inherent within the terms of the contract and for each activity. 10. Conduct regular inspections of the worksite and advice the supervisions and workforce against any dangerous practices that are observed whilst work is in progress. 11. Ensure that all firefighting equipment and appliances are suitable, serviceable and certified and that records of such are available. 12. Ensure that relevant personnel are aware of any hazards involved in the daily servicing of equipment or plant, the use and handling of diesel, hydraulic oil, compressed air, rotating shafts and drums, hot exhaust pipes, electrical equipment, jacks, ropes, fasteners, chain blocks, hand tools etc. 13 13. Ensure that work is being carried out within the scope of any relevant permits to work and will have the authority to withdraw a permit should any works be breaching the terms and condition of the permit. 14. Have the authority to suspend any works considered to be an immediate danger to life and health. Striking masonry nails by hand or Power tools. Use and loading of cartridge assisted tools. Drilling, cutting or breaking of brick, block, wall, stone, concrete, plaster and similar materials. Use of high-speed metal cutting saws, bench Circular saws, wooden planner, portable electric Saw and abrasive cutting of wheels. Brushing off corroded metal/ concrete surfaces either by hand or machinery. Using compressed air to remove dust and dirt particles in enclosed area. (I.e. bowling out reinforcement) 15 Cover all- Protective Clothing It will prevent body/ skin from the exposure to heat/ chemical contacts and dirt High Visible Vest When working outside with traffic/equipment moving area. It will prevent body/ skin from the exposure to heat/ chemical contacts and dirt. Ear Protection- Ear Plugs It will prevent ear damage due to exposure of high noise level. Hand Gloves Dotted cotton Hand gloves for normal work 16 Rubber Gloves Rubber Gloves suitable for handling Paint/Chemical. Different kinds of hand gloves will be provided according to the nature of work. Dust Mask Dust mask is issued for normal activities Half face Chemical Vapour Mask It is used for high toxic paints and chemicals 17 Arrangement for working at Height Mobile Scaffold Mobile scaffold-More comfortable for working at height.
