If your child qualified for a place at one of the schools named on the application form, they have been allocated a place at that school. If your child qualified for a place at more than one of the schools named on the form, they have been allocated a place at the school which you ranked as your highest preference on the application form. If your child has not qualified for a place at any of the schools named on the application form, your child has been given a place at their catchment area school, if a place was available, or at the nearest school maintained by the East Riding of Yorkshire Council or academy in the East Riding which has a place available. Academy, Foundation and Voluntary Aided School – Other local authority area If your child has been allocated a place at a Voluntary Aided or Foundation school or at an Academy within another local authority area, you should write to the school confirming whether you wish to accept the place or not within 10 working days. School Admissions Team, East Riding of Yorkshire Council, County Hall, Beverley HU17 9BA Tel (01482) 392100 e-mail: [email protected] Website: www.eastriding.gov.uk Appeals You can appeal against any decision not to allocate your child a place at a school named for which you have applied. If you do wish to appeal, please contact the School Admissions Team on (01482) 392100 to request an appeal form and guidance notes. Completed forms should be returned to the School Admissions Team by 18 May 2018. Waiting Lists For schools which are over-subscribed, waiting lists of unsuccessful applicants will be drawn up after the allocation of places. Children placed on the waiting list will be prioritised using the criteria set out in the primary school guidance booklet. In ordering the waiting list, no value will be placed on the date on which the application was received or the preference (first, second or third) expressed by parents on the application form. If places are not taken up or children in the relevant year group leave the school later on and pupil numbers fall below the published admission number, places will be offered to those receiving the highest priority on the waiting list. A child’s name will be automatically put on a waiting list for a place at the school named as the applicant’s first preference if they do not gain a place at that school. If the applicant is given a place at the school named as their second choice, their child’s name will be placed on the waiting list for the school named as first choice. If the applicant is given a place at the school named as their third choice, their child’s name will be placed on the waiting lists for the schools named as first and second choice. If the applicant is not given a place at any of the schools listed on the application form, the child’s name will be placed on the waiting lists of all three schools. If the applicant has not named their catchment area school as one of their preferences on the application form, their child’s name will be put on the waiting list for their catchment area school if it is an East Riding community or voluntary controlled school. These waiting lists will only be maintained until the end of the autumn term 2018. Waiting lists will be deleted on 30 September 2018 and applicants will have to contact the School Admissions Team in writing or by email to keep their child’s name on the waiting list to the end of the autumn term.
