The Rotary Clubs of Hustadvika, Midsund and Molde in D2305 invite 14 young people from all over the world to Summer Camp Explore Western Norway 2020! We would like to give you a taste of our part of Norway, from powerful experiences by the sea in Hustadvika, to country-side and mountains in Midsund, and to the city of Molde. You will learn about Rotary – but first and most important: You will get new international friends! During the camp we will challenge you with new experiences, and we hope you can contribute to an exciting camp with skills and knowledge from your own culture! You should have a positive attitude towards outdoor life, and you should bring good walking shoes/boots. A more detailed program and suggestions for clothing will be provided to the selected campers in advance. Facts about the camp Dates: Arrival 10th of August, departure 21th of August Participants: 14 people, 7 girls and 7 boys, one from each country. Age 18-22 years. Arrival/Departure: The participants will be met by Rotarians at Molde airport. Rough camp program: The program will consist of a lot of outdoor activities The first part of the camp you will stay in an old fishing village (Bjørnsund Leirskole), with fishing and sightseeing in the area. In Midsund you will be experiencing everyday life in a host family, and get known in the area during hiking, sightseeing and other activities. We finally take you to Molde, where visiting a company/factory, hiking and other social activities are planned. Cost: A fee of 150 Euros will be required upon arrival. Travel expenses to Norway, pocket money and insurance must be paid by the participants. Accomodation: The first days the participants will stay in a camp school, rest of the stay in host families. Insurance: The participants must be insured against illness, accidents and third partydamages. No insurance is provided by the camp Language and food: English language and standard European/Norwegian food Application: Obtain the application form at your national Rotarys home page. Fill in your personal data and obtain signatures from your local Rotary club and District Youth Exchange Officer (DYEO). The DYEO should send the application (in PDF format) to Vivianne Jodalen, national STEP coordinator Norway, before the 31st of March Procedure: 14 people will be selected for participation by early April, and they will receive an acceptance letter including more information .
