High Frequency Trading Literature Review September 2013 This brief literature review presents a summary of recent empirical studies related to automated or “high frequency trading” (HFT) and its impact on various markets. Each study takes a unique approach, yet all paint a consistent picture of markets being improved by competition and automation.
