ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE IOM is committed to the principle that safe and orderly migration is a benefit to migrants and society, and is essential for achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. As a global intergovernmental organization with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland, IOM supports governments to effectively manage the various challenges related to migration. In the health sector, this involves acting as a technical agency to address national priorities and as an implementing agency which partners with government, non‐State actors, communities, and other agencies to strengthen health systems and promote health equity for hard‐to‐reach mobile populations, migrants, and their local host communities. Within the context of promoting safer migration, IOM’s Eastern Myanmar health programme is comprised of several projects that extend the reach of government health systems to locations, which host internal migrants and are transit as well, source, and return communities for international migrants. IOM’s programme involves close partnership with government counterparts and builds capacity of partners and migrant hosting communities for health promotion, diagnostics, referral, treatment, and for extension of service delivery to vulnerable groups. The comprehensive package addresses key health challenges faced by migrants, including maternal and child health, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS, malaria, and in some locations primary care. 1 III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Under the overall supervision of the Head of Sub‐office, and direct supervision of Social Mobilization Coordinator, the incumbent will be responsible for Mobilization, Awareness raising and Health education of target risk group such as Female Sex Worker (FSW), Men who Have Sex with Men (MSM) and their partners in order to prevent HIV/AIDS transmission among risk groups including the identification of the TB‐HIV co‐ infection. In particular, she/he will be responsible for actively participating in prevention activities of HIV/AIDS transmission among target risk groups in Myawaddy township. a) Managing and coordinating Train PEER educators with the support of Social Mobilization Coordinator and DIC medical team. Conduct peer education sessions in the peer groups Lead, facilitate and support PEER educators in conducting peer education and health education sessions on HIV/AIDS, TB, STD (Sexually Transmitted Disease), condom distribution, and other BCC (Behaviour change communication ) sessions in KAP group and in general population. Communicate and advocate the gate keeper the services available at DIC and establish the mutual understanding and trust among them Support Social Mobilization Coordinator and DIC medical team in mobile activities. Support Social Mobilization Coordinator in organizing of any special event in collaboration with other IOM team members. Support the targeted risk groups in providing counselling, care and support, and improving their knowledge, attitude and practice related to HIV/AIDS. b) Data collection and reporting Collect data relating to PEER educator activities, financial data and submit report to Social Mobilization Coordinator on monthly basic. Participate in monthly meeting and assist Social Mobilization Coordinator in planning the activities in the field Undertake the regular monitoring visit to support peer educators in the field c) Other Ensure to follow IOM’s staff rule and regulation. Perform any other duties as assigned by supervisors IV. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE 1. Myanmar national. 2. Experience and well knowledge about the environment of targeted risk groups (FSW and MSM) and willing to work with this risk group. 3. At least passed in high school level education. 4. Good interpersonal communication skills including ability to talk in public and to establish links with local and target risk group. 5. Ability to work in group works, discussions, motivates others in a participatory manner. 6. Experience in health related projects for INGO, NGO or government and institutions focusing on HIV/AIDS and STI in at least 2‐3 years. VI. LANGUAGES Required Myanmar Fluent Advantageous Able to speak local languages would be considered as an advantage. Local residents are encouraged to apply 4 .
