My main study organisms are insects and palm trees. Most of my research involves fieldwork, the documentation of species and their natural history, ecology, and evolutionary genomics. Sponsored by the David Rockefeller Center for Latin American Studies, we aim for this to be a highly-visible gathering, leading to action. We will convene a select group of specialists and leaders from across the Americas to discuss the Amazon, its interactions with climate, public perceptions about conservation and climate change, and sustainable models in the region.
