League results Rosedale Premiership Match day 7 ================================= Dummys - Fjortoft's Friends 0 : 0 Booked: --- ***Kutsche Table toppers Dummys were in full control of this one after having picked the right strategy, but Fjortoft's Friends got real lucky and stole a point. The Ages - Extreme 1 : 0 Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: --- ***Alonso Extreme missed a suspension and had a resulting weakened strategy. The Ages thus dominated the game, but needed a penalty to pull through a win. FC Asskickers - Blue Revolution 5 : 5 Scorers: Booker T. (29., 33., 62.), Sting (36., 61.) ***Kazuya (35., 61., 80.), Kenichi (25., 69.) Booked: Booker T., Chris Jericho, Mark Henry ***--- A very even game where all chances seemed to become goals. Although the draw was fair, the scoreline was rather ridiculous. Twin Peaks Owls - FC Mokum 1 : 1 Scorers: Lawrence Jacoby (38.) ***Marcellis (9.) Booked: --- ***Sneijder After picking a good game plan, the Bookhouse Boys really deserved to win this game. However, being inefficient, they got only one point. Mishima Zaibatsu - Famous Battles 2 : 0 Scorers: Dean Earwicker (85.), Kazuya Mishima (21.) ***--- Last year's champions get their first home win of the season, and it was entirely deserved too. Famous Battles seem to have problems competing away from home... Ladida FC - First Men of Rome 9 : 4 Scorers: Cowboy-Laila (9., 30., 54.), Beyonce (6., 44.), Pixie (46., 68.), Dixie (11.), Marianne (18.) ***Falcao (1., 32.), Vincenzo Montella (48.), Mancini (19.) Booked: --- ***Falcao The home team did a lucky feed of Trion, and it helped turn a deserved win into a veritable goalfest. Rosedale Premiership Match day 8 ================================= Fjortoft's Friends - Ladida FC 3 : 2 Scorers: Zico (17.), Schnix (74.) ***Marianne (74.), Cowboy-Laila (13.) Penalties: 1 ***- A rather even game, but the home advantage gave Fjortoft's Friends a small upper hand. With the help of the referee and a very dubious penalty, they managed to get a win here, pushing up the table. First Men of Rome - Mishima Zaibatsu 1 : 1 Scorers: Gabriel Batistuta (27.) ***Prototype Jack (1.) Booked: Gabriel Batistuta, Mancini ***--- The Toga Boys becomes the first team of the season to score on Mishima in the league, but could only get one point from that as their visitors scored as well. Still, they'd better count themselves lucky; the away team deserved at least two goals from play and chances. Famous Battles - Twin Peaks Owls 1 : 7 Scorers: Stalingrad (80.) ***Dick Tremayne (68., 72.), Jean Renault (13., 15.), Blackie (34., 65.), Dougie Milford (76.) Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Booked: --- ***Dougie Milford, Log Lady With a shift of strategy, Twin Peaks Owls managed a big upper hand away against homestrong Famous Battles. Although they didn't deserve to win by anywhere near six goals, it was still a win they earned. FC Mokum - FC Asskickers 2 : 3 Scorers: Raul (9.), Ricardo Reis (23.) ***Sting (21., 63.), Booker T. (17.) Penalties: - ***- (1 missed) Booked: Donk ***Mick Foley An almost exactly even game, but the Asskickers fought harder, so it was perhaps poetic justice that they managed to claim both points. Blue Revolution - The Ages 2 : 1 Scorers: Kunihiko (1., 56.) ***The Past (61.) Blue Revolution are having a great season at home, and continued with a one goal win against early leaders the Ages - the latter seem to have slumped considerably in form recently, though. Extreme - Dummys 0 : 2 Scorers: --- ***Krezip (31.) Penalties: - ***1 Booked: Kuijt, Scholes ***Dennis, Krezip, Live Although completely automatically chosen by the program, the lineups allowed manager Kraijenbrink's hopes to come true: An away win for Dummys. Looking at the table, perhaps the result isn't very surprising... Lexington League Match day 7 ============================= Car Park Rangers - Al Rassan United 2 : 1 Scorers: Monique (13.), Al Simmons (69.) ***Brandin (49.) Booked: Eric Draven ***Catriona, Yoshimitsu Despite the visitors picking the better strategy and dominating the game, the Powers managed to put in a fair bit of luck and take this one home. Dead Dino Storage - Springfield United 0 : 2 Scorers: --- ***Duff-Beer (51., 82.) Booked: --- ***Duff-Beer, Marge Simpson, Tingel-Tangel-Bob The top two of Lexington faced off, and lo and behold, the away team managed to win! They were the strongest judging by play too, but not quite an entire goal better. Still, beating the other dominant team away from home is the best indication you can get at this point of the season... it'd be rather surprising if Springfield United do not promote now. Sheffield Thursday - Desassossego Blues 13 : 3 Scorers: Greg Aquino (25., 57., 66., 87.), Dave Bush (33., 38., 46., 59.), Joe Dillon (6., 9., 64.), Ryan Braun (18., 42.) ***Alexander Search (1., 18.), Charles R Anon (25.) Booked: --- ***Ricardo Reis Ouch. The Blues got completely wiped off the pitch in this one, as the Owls wanted to show they still mean business despite being placed 8th so far. Tamriel Athletic - Erkrath Gladiators 1 : 0 Scorers: Umog gra-Garz (45.) ***--- Booked: Urbul gro-Orkulg ***--- Picking the right strategy, Tamriel Athletic managed to play practically even with far stronger Lunatics, and thus got a deserved point - their first point of the season. Sleep Wanderers - G.I.D. 6 : 1 Scorers: Foxglove (30., 43.), Pharamond (11., 69.), Kazuki (37.), Matthew Crow (85.) ***--- Penalties: - ***1 An easy win for the Night Terrors against strugglers G.I.D. Gamblers United - Kremlin 1 : 2 Scorers: Stephanie Strongpoint (18.) ***Martin Kolberg (40., 46.) Kremlin picked the right strategy, and narrowly managed to edge out an away win against the Gamblers. Are Jiretorn's boys headed back towards Berkeley? Lexington League Match day 8 ============================= Al Rassan United - Gamblers United 1 : 0 Scorers: Lisseut (87.) ***--- Booked: Garcia de Rada ***--- The Gamblers got real close to an away draw here, but after 87 minutes, Lisseut managed to score the winning goal. The match was primarily the home teams after a stronger fighting spirit. Kremlin - Sleep Wanderers 5 : 2 Scorers: Clayton (17., 53.), Roar Flaathen (32.), Per Ostvold (74.) ***Foxglove (59.), Chantal (89.) Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: Karisma Veggimellom Horheim ***Foxglove, Matthew Crow One lucky point for Trion from the Night Terrors, but all it did was reducing the goals Kremlin won the game by. Even Trion needs to take breaks between the miracles he conjures up... G.I.D. - Tamriel Athletic 1 : 2 Scorers: Ling Xiaoyu (74.) ***Eliza Pierrane (82.), Urbul gro-Orkulg (32.) Booked: --- ***Inial Sintav Fighting harder than their hosts, Tamriel Athletic managed to pull ahead and win one. That's an unbeaten weekend, then - strong performance, Henry! Erkrath Gladiators - Sheffield Thursday 3 : 2 Scorers: Ragnar Huehnerbein (36.), Daniel Klein (23.) ***Ryan Braun (13.), Dave Bush (40.) Penalties: 1 ***- Booked: --- ***Vinny Rottino The home advantage put Erkrath Gladiators somewhat ahead in this one, but they needed the help of the referee to actually get the win. Too bad for Sheffield Thursday, who'll also lack Vinny Rottino to a suspension in the next game. Desassossego Blues - Dead Dino Storage 1 : 3 Scorers: Ricardo Reis (55.) ***The Third Ending (37., 89.), Marillion (49.) Penalties: - (2 missed) ***- Booked: --- ***Marillion, The Third Ending Whoa! Not only did the Blues have real bad luck from normal play, but they also wasted two penalties! On paper, this initially seemed like a walk in the park for the home team, but DDS managed to fight them out of their style and get somewhat close to them in gameplay. Then, luck set in, and Dead Dino Storage stole both points! Springfield United - Car Park Rangers 4 : 2 Scorers: Barney (28., 66., 87.) ***Al Simmons (81.) Penalties: 1 ***1 Booked: --- ***Bruce Banner Springfield United are showing themselves as a vertiable powerhouse this season, and picking the right strategy against the Powers gave them a rather straightforward road to two points. With 14 out of 16 points so far, they're looking in great shape. Berkeley Conference Match day 7 ================================ Saturday Morning FC - Thinkers FC 10 : 3 Scorers: Hobbes (27., 62., 69.), Ironhide (43., 59.), Elmer Fudd (16., 26.), Wizard of Id (5., 62.), Rodimus Prime (41.) ***Plato (22., 66., 90.) Booked: Calvin, Snoopy ***Plato The 2Ds show how they're keeping up in the top - by scoring lots of goals. Plato managed a hat-trick for Thinkers FC, but it was nowhere near enough to compete. Time Will Tell - Call of Cthulhu 1 : 1 Scorers: Hatnix (78.) ***The Cats of Ulthar (36.) Penalties: - (1 missed) ***- Booked: Tutnix ***Beyond the Wall of Sleep, Dreams in the Witch-house, The Quest of Iranon With the home advantage, Time Will Tell were stronger in this matchup, but the Lurking Fear's fighting spirit made a draw rather plausible. Harestua IL - Feyenoord 2 : 1 Scorers: Apollon Sopa (37.), Reidar Skoien (66.) ***Saidi (63.) Feyenoord picked the right strategy for this match, but Harestua IL were simply too strong nevertheless. That's 10 points out of 14 possible so far for the home team - definitely putting in a contention for promotion. AZ - Slartibartfast FC 0 : 0 Booked: --- ***Garkbit Despite AZ running most of the game in this one, Slartibartfast FC managed to keep their goal empty and thus escape with a point.
