Diagnostic Notes The tribe Bostrichini is characterised by: - First and second antennal club segments not cup-shaped, more or less compressed laterally or flabellate - Hind coxal cavities completely or incompletelty margined by a sharp raised ridge along the anterior margin of the first visible abdominal sternite The genus _Lichenophanes_ is characterised by: - Body length: 5.5-15.5mm - Antennal club segments with two completely margined circular sensory areas - Metepisterna not densely hariy and often not visible - Elytrons usually with ridges and or tubercles - Pronotum often with a pair of raised, convex swellings on the disc There are 36 known valid species in this genus. Diagnostic characteristics of this species include: - Inner dorsal longitudinal ridge on each eltyron continuous - Apical declivity sutural angles prolonged and separated by a distinct notch - Apical declivity with two pairs of distinct marginal tubercles - Pronotum posterior margin (including posterior angles) noticeably narrower than the elytron at base Source: Graham Goodyer 2008 (unpublished) Identification of Bostrichid beetles to Genus and Species. 3.
